Ab-bee steps off the boat onto Aegis with fellow traveller Mrs. Dylan. Time for a look around, but first a long stretch after the voyage!

This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

@ Marram Beach
While Ab-bee was busy snapping photos, Vivacious Violetta wandered off to find a suitable bush, as there was a decided lack of amenities in the immediate area!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Ab-bee asked BRUNO if he had a fur clip on him, as Ab-bee wanted to fashion a fishing pole and stop to dangle a line...?

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

@ Blackfriars Viaduct
While Ab-bee was busy snapping photos, Summer!!! wandered off to find a suitable bush, as there was a decided lack of amenities in the immediate area!

A feat of engineering that certainly stands out in the countryside. It’s a place to stop and dream of where the trains thundering past will be going!

@ Old Castle Place
Ab-bee was becoming increasingly irritated with the constant clicking and beeping of Franny's camera disturbing the peace and quiet, so Ab-bee moved purposefully on without her!

@ Waders Bay
Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Ab-bee on to keep on trekking. However Pinky Tuscadero sat down, refusing to budge, complaining of blisters on her paws...

This bay is just the place for an early morning excursion beside the sea; a peaceful place to share with the scavenging birds; ideal for contemplation.

Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Ab-bee on to keep on trekking. However fiffy sat down, refusing to budge, complaining of blisters on her paws...

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

Ab-bee and Sam were so busy gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to finish shaking paws before changeover!

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

While Ab-bee was whistling through her teeth as they ambled through another breathtaking scene, Dempsey was secretly wishing she had packed ear plugs, or gaffer tape for Ab-bee's mug!

Of all the pets Ab-bee might have met here, Bunnibuns was the last she expected. But what a great view!

Ab-bee finally makes it back to the landing stage, where iddels is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Ab-bee pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:

When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
