This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

While Smokey thinks the scenery is lovely, he wonders where Otto intends to set up camp?

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

Smokey was becoming increasingly irritated with the constant clicking and beeping of Brrrrrian's camera disturbing the peace and quiet, so Smokey moved purposefully on without him!

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Smokey and Pickles were so busy gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to finish shaking paws before changeover!

A feat of engineering that certainly stands out in the countryside. It’s a place to stop and dream of where the trains thundering past will be going!

Smokey was surprised to meet Rianna here! But they were both delighted to find plenty of travel tokens!

Nopet can resist clambering or flying to the top of this ancient look-out point over the undulating countryside to shout, “I’m the King of the Castle!”

While Smokey normally avoids tourist hotspots, he is glad he allowed Angel to bring him here!

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

After months of planning, Smokey and b-rok finally agreed on where they would travel together, and they are both secretly please with their choice!

A favourite gathering point in the summer in Aegis is the Apple Orchard. What pet can resist sinking their little teeth or beaks into such invitingly juicy fruit?

@ Dutch Gardens
While Smokey soaked in the view, Coriolis was searching her backpack for the bug spray, certain that her fur would be crawling with little biting critters once the sun went down!

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

@ Island: Aegis
Smokey finally makes it back to the landing stage, where flipper is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Smokey pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:
Island: Aegis
When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
