Episode 1/25

@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Brock and Siesta are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Brock," said Iolanthe, "for this experience alone?" Brock, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

Brock and Esmerelda, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Inspired by the sunny day, Molecule said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Brock took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Molecule hastily revised its romantic harvest vision.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Oscar.
"Well," said Brock, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

@ Fragile Flowers
Brock had to travel on alone, as Brown Bobby declared he had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
lily monet and Brock shook paws and then they both admired the magnificent floral display beside them.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“Hey, Elsa!” called out Brock. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Elsa was glad to rest and enjoy the food Brock shared with her.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

@ Path Covered by Fallen leaves
Brock tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Wilford in the process, then he wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Brock.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Flora.

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Brock was in a hurry to move along and shake some more paws, but Buzzz decided to stay where she was for a while, and sketch the scenery for this week's Art Challenge!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

@ Orange You Glad It's Snack Time?
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Brock, as he and Belle IbKat tucked into a delicious food sample!

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“Oh hello, Brock!” cried Cindy. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
"Pills, was that last one we looked at a thorn bush with roses? Or a rose bush with thorns?" asked Brock.

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
Foxy and Brock counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Foxy.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower
“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Brock to Berry Blossom.

As you land on the last rock, you notice a huge bloom coming your way on the water. It bumps into the rock, making it an easy grab with your paw!

@ Almost there!
Brock opened his rucksack to change his hat. Midnight could see Brock had a baseball cap, a sombrero, a beret, a straw boater, a cricket cap, a sou'wester, a large, floppy sunhat and a pith helmet!
“Did you bring a mortarboard too?” Midnight asked Brock.
Almost there!
As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

@ Meadow of Yellow Flowers
On her way round The Autumn Experience, Maybelle bumped into Brock. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

With the waterfall and river now roaring on your right, the gentleness of the sunset upon a meadow of yellow flowers, which appear to be even more yellow from the sun's rays, calm your soul as you near your goal!

While Brock stood drinking in the amazing view, PingPing searched in her backpack for her camera, eager to capture the scene!

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

“What’s this flower called?” Brock said to Choose a name. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Choose a name and hastily changed the subject.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

@ Ginger and Lemons
Brock was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to Draco, when they met and shook paws.

Brock and Arty shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Brock?” said Arty.

“You know, Cicero said 'If you have a garden and a library you have everything you need',” mused Venus.
"I don't think I've met Cicero," said Brock. "Is he on this tour?"

Opening the door to this one room cabin, you notice immediately that your host has left YOU a bouquet of flowers - the common exchanges of welcome and thanks among the pets in the autumn realms.

Brock is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Svaha comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Svaha. Brock looks down and sees something valuable. Svaha generously lets Brock keep it!
