@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Keena Two-lakes and Chusi are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
While Keena Two-lakes paused to enjoy the view, Slimer started scrabbling in its rucksack for its portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Slimer?” asked Keena Two-lakes. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

@ Sunset Across the Field
“What an amazing view!” exclaimed Keena Two-lakes after shaking paws with moo moo, who agreed with her. Keena Two-lakes was excited to meet up again with moo moo. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

Keena Two-lakes and Priya were so rapt gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to shake paws before moving on to the next stage!

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Inspired by the sunny day, Helga said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Keena Two-lakes took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Helga hastily revised her romantic harvest vision.
Handful of Horse Chestnuts
Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Keena Two-lakes.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Ladybug.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

@ Fragile Flowers
Esmerelda was hailed by Keena Two-lakes, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Esmerelda!” said Keena Two-lakes. “I could stay here for hours!”

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Alexandra.
"Well," said Keena Two-lakes, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Keena Two-lakes, musing as she and Cutey Purr took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

While Keena Two-lakes stood drinking in the amazing view, Woolly searched in his backpack for his camera, eager to capture the scene!

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Keena Two-lakes gazed at the scene around her in awe, while jimkitty grumbled a little about Keena Two-lakes's so-called shortcut, if his blisters were anything to go by!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
“Oh hello, Keena Two-lakes!” cried Astrid. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
"Mae, was that last one we looked at a thorn bush with roses? Or a rose bush with thorns?" asked Keena Two-lakes.

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“Hey, Koo!” called out Keena Two-lakes. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Koo was glad to rest and enjoy the food Keena Two-lakes shared with her.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Keena Two-lakes to Elodie Vivia ♡.

@ Almost there!
While Keena Two-lakes paused to enjoy the view, Cherish Scrappy Demure started scrabbling in its rucksack for its portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Cherish Scrappy Demure?” asked Keena Two-lakes. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Keena Two-lakes tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Sunshine in the process, then she wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

@ Green Leafed Plant
Mrs Wabbit bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Mrs Wabbit?” asked Keena Two-lakes.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Mrs Wabbit.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

Mousey and Keena Two-lakes counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Mousey.
