The poppy can have many symbolic meanings in different cultures, for example, restful sleep and recovery. For others, it is a cheery harbinger of summer because of its size and intense colors. On this island there is a huge swathe of red poppies, providing a feast for the eyes and senses.

While Monty Don soaked in the view, Purple is AWESOME was searching her backpack for the bug spray, certain that her fur would be crawling with little biting critters once the sun went down!

Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Monty Don on to keep on trekking. However Sage sat down, refusing to budge, complaining of blisters on her paws...

Of all the pets Monty Don might have met here, Patch was the last he expected. But what a great view!

Monty Don gazed around in awe, while Marty Mole mumbled and grumbled about Monty Don's shortcut being no shortcut at all, if the blisters on his paws were anything to go by!

@ Island: L'île Mystère
Monty Don finally makes it back to the landing stage, where Harry the Hoot Owl is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Monty Don pockets a map of L'île Mystère as a momento. The guidebook says:

What an adventure this island will prove to be! There are opportunities for rambling up hill and down dale, and splendid views across lakes and mountains. There are fields of aromatic and colourful flowers. At one point in their exploration the pets will meet a huge reptile but rest assured—it will do no harm! Bon voyage!
