What a transformation there is to even the most well known locations when lit up in neon lights after nightfall, whether it be a cathedral, hotel, monument or cityscape! Get those scarves and gloves on, though, and stick close to each other as you go from one stop to the next!
Artists Quarter
There are certain super touristy things to see, but pets seem to forget the artist quarter, where creativity shines, no matter what time of the day or night.

@ Big City Square
“If we stayed up long enough, we could catch the sunrise, Shimmer,” said FLEECE.
“Gosh, I don't know about that, FLEECE! It would be amazing but I'm not sure if I could keep my eyes open long enough!"

The hustle and bustle is famous around the world, everypet should make this a bucket list visit. The neon lights, and the shows on stage, and street performers make this a time you'll never forget.

@ Curbside Pickup
While Shimmer paused to drink in the view, Captain Manwaring started scrabbling in his rucksack for his portable, foldable camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Captain Manwaring?” asked Shimmer. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

Throw a paw in the air and hail a cab from the curbside, it's better than standing in the rain, getting wet! Or if not a there's always the bus stop!

Shimmer gazed upwards. "I just saw some bats flying over there, Chica! It's not often you see those!"

Heleena was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Shimmer unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking Heleena’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Heleena. “We’re about to pose beside this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”
City Scapes
Like a sea of lava, heading to the ocean, so is the sea of pets traveling in the big city, on a river of light.

@ Weary Way Inn
“It's a lot darker than it was in the Labyrinth that time, isn't it, Shimmer?” remarked Leena, a little nervously.
“At least we shouldn't encounter any scorpions!" replied Shimmer.

@ Cathedral at Dusk
“What have you got in your tote bag, Aylizia?” asked Shimmer. “It looks very full!” “I’ve come prepared for anything, Shimmer,” responded Aylizia. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name it, I’ve got it!”

The golden sun dipped slowly below the horizon, showering the travelers in its warm glow, inviting everyone to enjoy the splendor.

@ Clock Tower
“Ooh, it's just starting to drizzle, Shimmer!” said Lady Aelfgifu. “Can you hold my torch and map while I dig out my Pac-a-Mac?"
Shimmer good-naturedly took charge of Lady Aelfgifu's possessions while she emptied her rucksack of a pack of sandwiches, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of toffees, a paperback novel, a bottle of mineral water, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old train tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a hotel key, some shopping receipts and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and tomato ketchup before locating the Pac-a-Mac right at the bottom. This she donned and then Shimmer helped her put everything back in her rucksack.

A modern twist of the clock tower, moving quickly into the digital age, lacking the old stye elegance but there's beauty in light as well.

Episode 9/26

@ The 1950s?
Shimmer is enjoying Fantastic Buildings when Dizzy comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Dizzy. Shimmer looks down and sees something valuable. Dizzy generously lets Shimmer keep it!
Brick Road (distant)
Dark gray bricks make a durable road for light traffic (no motor vehicles allowed). If we allowed vehicles we'd have to charge a toll to earn revenue for maintenance.
The 1950s?
Wet wtih a fresh rain, the moonless and starless sky casts no ambient light upon the mainstreet, giving it an old fashioned feel of days gone by in black and white.

“Everything is always darkest just before the dawn,” intoned Puff.
“It must be very near dawn now, then!" said Shimmer.

Bobbing on the open water, watching the city bloom to life as the sun sinks below the horizon is calming. Everypet wonders what the view would be from one of these skyscrapers?

Charming black street lights illuminate the street as you stroll home from your errands and visiting.

No matter where anypet travels, there's always an Exit that needs taken, and wonder if the GPS actually is going take you to the right place.

@ Raceway City
"You know, the settings on your camera have to be different for a night scene," remarked Shimmer.
"I suppose this tour is a good opportunity to learn all about that, Shimmer!" said Jasper.

Standing in the observation deck and viewing the city below, one can almost see the race track just beyond the fog. Racing at breakneck speed in a circle might not be your idea of fun but then again, it just might be!

“Hey, Shimmer, how are you doing? Long time no see! Are you a night owl?"
Shimmer shook paws with Meowchi. “Well—a lot of these attractions are so lit up you wouldn't think it was night-time!" she said.

Shimmer opened her rucksack to change her hat. Ziggy could see Shimmer had a large, floppy sunhat, a balaclava, a rain hat, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a swimming cap! “Did you bring a fez too?” Ziggy asked Shimmer.

Shimmer has seen enough buildings to plan her own town, and is tired out. Butterscotch agrees it is time to go home and discuss which building they would most like to live in!
