@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Sassy and Robby are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Sassy opened her rucksack to change her hat. Avalanche could see Sassy had a baseball cap, a sombrero, a beret, a straw boater, a cricket cap, a sou'wester, a large, floppy sunhat and a pith helmet!
“Did you bring a mortarboard too?” Avalanche asked Sassy.

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

@ Sunset Across the Field
Sassy tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Selina in the process, then she wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

@ Picture of the Tunnel of Trees
"Miss Mousse, just take a look all around you and breathe deeply! Get that good fresh air in your lungs! Does it get any better than this?" asked Sassy, who had just met Miss Mousse at this Autumn Experience stop.

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
MELODEE and Sassy shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

@ Bouquet of Fall Flowers
“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Sassy.
“Wow! He must surely have green fingers!” replied Vinny the collector.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

“I could stay here forever, Sassy,” said Jewels. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Jewels. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Sassy.

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

“My uncle grows these in his back garden,” observed Sassy.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“Great to meet you again, Cat Blossom!” said Sassy. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

“I could stay here forever, Sassy,” said Midnight. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Midnight. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Sassy.

"This is a glorious specimen, Norris", observed Sassy. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Sassy?" said Norris. "Buy a garden gnome!"

@ Running River After the Waterfall
“Shall we take a selfie?” Sassy asked Ali Haider as they drank in the peaceful scene and admired each other’s purchases of harvest produce.

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Sassy.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Starlite.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

"Do you know what this place needs, Sassy?"
"No, Yay, what does it need?"
"Nothing, Sassy. This scene is flawless!"

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!
Thimbl bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Thimbl?” asked Sassy.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Thimbl.

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Sassy.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Miss Flicka.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower
"Woolly, was that last one we looked at a thorn bush with roses? Or a rose bush with thorns?" asked Sassy.

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Sassy and B. Ugger were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture!

The quiet and serenity of the next scene made Sassy and Mushroom feel like they were the only pets left in PnF Land ...

“What’s this flower called?” Sassy said to Elsa. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Elsa and hastily changed the subject.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

@ Ginger and Lemons
Sassy was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to SPARKLES, when they met and shook paws.

Sassy is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Lady Aelfgifu comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Lady Aelfgifu. Sassy looks down and sees something valuable. Lady Aelfgifu generously lets Sassy keep it!
