@ Dashing Through the Snow
Hoorayrah and tails have been given a free map to help them enjoy their Winter Tour! Before unfolding it, they read the cover:
Ski & Skate
Today's trip is on a modern train with spacious seats and large windows to enjoy the passing winter scenery. The train's first stop by a frozen lake allows the pets the opportunity to stretch their legs with a little skating! Let's hope there are no frozen paws from this adventure! The trip then proceeds to skiing grounds with steep snowy slopes, cable cars, chair lifts and an Olympic ski jump! The pets can also turn their paws to snowboarding if they wish. The pets will meet a cute little critter also trying to ski. Back on board the train at the end of an action-packed day, the pets will have the thrill of seeing the Northern Lights as they travel home in the setting sun to that night's lodging. There they will enjoy a warming milky coffee and a bowl of hot soup by the wood-burning stove in the dining room, while admiring the snowy scene outside.
Dashing Through the Snow
While an aeroplane might get you to your final destination more quickly and efficiently, nothing can surpass the romance and sightseeing opportunities of a journey by train. Just try to make sure you get a window seat to capture the breath-taking views of snowy peaks!

“I’ve come prepared for anything snowy, Tweety Pi,” responded Flutterbye. “There’s snowshoes, snow boots, Wellington boots, a pair of grippy things, some ear muffs—you name it, I’ve got it!”

Cold, bracing snowy weather is grand in theory. However, if your paws start to go numb and the chill creeps its way through your fur, it can start to lose its attraction. The answer is a train journey, where you can look out across sweeping white vistas or forests of trees lightly trimmed with snow, without having to get your scarf on!

Hoorayrah opened his rucksack to find his hat. Bandit could see Hoorayrah had a beret, a balaclava, a cricket cap, a Tam o' Shanter, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a Peruvian chullo!
“Did you bring a Stetson too?” Bandit asked Hoorayrah.

Will your pet cross this ornate bridge or skate over the frozen river to the other bank? The bridge is set against a backdrop of bare trees, grey sky and far-distant mountains with a foreground of snowdrifts.

“I could stay here forever, Hoorayrah,” said bielzibub. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, bielzibub. I wouldn't be surprised if the next stop is even better!” said Hoorayrah.

Nowadays rinks of artificial ice are commonplace in all countries. In former times skating could only be enjoyed when the weather was cold enough to freeze a lake or river to thick ice, allowing skaters to enjoy a game of curling or ice hockey or just enjoy pirouetting on the chilly, frozen surface!

"This is fabulous, Bluey~*," enthused Hoorayrah. "I'll have this photo printed and framed and display it next to my plush reindeer that I got in the little gift shop near Snow Beach and the mother of pearl model of the Taj Mahal from Icon!"

maddie moo and Hoorayrah were chatting about the concept of hygge.
"Apparently the Dutch have a word for it, too," said Hoorayrah. "Gezelligheid".
"I guess we could say 'cosiness', Hoorayrah? Even if it's not quite the same?"

Being in the mountains has a huge benefit on both our physical and mental health. Skiers will talk about the adrenalin rush of the slopes but also the pleasure gained from being in nature and having social interaction. Beyond the physical benefits, exposure to the natural surroundings of the mountains during exercise appears to provide an additional boost to our psychological well-being and aids in recovering from stress.

“If there's time at the end of the day when we get back to our accommodation, I might do some initial sketches for a watercolour painting," Lady Jane said, offering Hoorayrah a toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for herself.
“That sounds like a good plan, Lady Jane!" said Hoorayrah. "Doing something relaxing is very hygge!"

"Do you think we'll see a polar bear like we did on Snow Beach that time, Grayson?" asked Hoorayrah.
"Oh gosh, Hoorayrah, do you remember those horrible jellyfish in the water there? I can't stand them!" responded Grayson.

After a tiring but exhilarating day on the slopes, it's time to doff our skis and enjoy the après ski evening, where we will cosily plot our next ski adventure! What plans we make! It's not necessary to have a lively party; a quiet hot milky coffee with two or three friends after a day's fun on the slopes gives us the chance to bond and get ready for the morrow's pleasures.

“Ooh, it's just starting to get a bit cold, Hoorayrah!” said Shadow. “Can you hold my map while I dig out my gloves?"
Hoorayrah good-naturedly took charge of Shadow's possessions while he emptied his rucksack of a pack of sandwiches, a Thermos flask, a pair of galoshes, a bag of toffees, a paperback novel, a bottle of mineral water, an address book, some postage stamps, an assortment of different coloured biros, a bottle opener, a couple of old train tickets, a handful of golden and silver moles, a door key, some shopping receipts, a screwdriver, a bottle of multivitamins, a lottery ticket and a selection of rather battered sachets of salt, sugar and tomato ketchup before locating the gloves right at the bottom. These he donned and then Hoorayrah helped him put everything back in his rucksack.

This living space is minimalist yet comfortable, providing plenty of seating for pets to sprawl out and relax, while the laminate floor offers opportunities for marble races! Plenty of light is admitted by two large windows overlooking the garden.
