@ Scarlet Pathway
Creampuff and Finn are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!

As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

Episode 2/25

@ Illusion of Nightfall
Creampuff gazed at the scene around her in awe, while Buzzz grumbled a little about Creampuff's so-called shortcut, if her blisters were anything to go by!

Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

@ Undulating Road
Creampuff was very happy to meet Icicle here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

@ Autumn Rice Field
“What have you got in your tote bag, Teeka?” asked Creampuff. “It looks very full!”
“I’ve come prepared for anything the weather can throw at us, Creampuff,” responded Teeka. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name them, I’ve got them!”

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
Creampuff and Bindy were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture!

The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
Inspired by the sunny day, Smoki said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Creampuff took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Smoki hastily revised her romantic harvest vision.
Wild Blueberries
Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Creampuff, as she and Lacy tucked into a delicious food sample!

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

@ Vision in Violet
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Kairos.
"Well," said Creampuff, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

@ Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise
Slimer and Creampuff counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Slimer.

Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

“Isn’t this amazing, Princess?” declared Creampuff. “I’m seeing so many flowers and shrubs that I’ve never seen before!”

@ Log Cabin in the Woods
Creampuff had to travel on alone, as Gordon declared he had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

Creampuff and Rianna were so rapt gazing at the scenery they almost forgot to shake paws before moving on to the next stage!

“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Bandit said to Creampuff. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

No rose is a mysterious as the purple rose and its fragrance is just as fascinating. This single rose is simply stunning when placed in a bouquet with other lavender-hued flowers.

“These make a fine display, don’t they, Creampuff?” said Nermal Stingray, when he and Creampuff had shaken paws.

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

Creampuff and Beast shook paws, then looked around in awe, wishing they hadn’t already eaten their lunch! This was the most perfect place for a picnic!

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Hydro Jen" said Creampuff. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Creampuff! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

"This is a glorious specimen, Fergus", observed Creampuff. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Creampuff?" said Fergus. "Buy a garden gnome!"

“What’s this flower called?” Creampuff said to Silky. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Silky and hastily changed the subject.

Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

Creampuff tumbled out of the Autumn Experience tourist bus, almost flattening Granville in the process, then she wondered where the muffled groans were coming from!

Soft and wispy, like a daydream, these delicate-looking flowers are anything but that. They are actually a sturdy wildflower, blooming all summer long through the end of autumn.

Creampuff is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Sam comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Sam. Creampuff looks down and sees something valuable. Sam generously lets Creampuff keep it!
