Honeycomb and Moo got so engrossed in the conversation they were having with their fascinating new friend that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade farewell to their new chum and promised to visit again!

Honeycomb and Reynard had shaken paws and were now introducing themselves to the next critter who had come to meet them on this leg of the quest, who was eager to make friends and to show off a carefully tidied natural habitat!

Honeycomb and Millicent shook paws and said “How do you do?” to the next creature who had come to meet them, and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Honeycomb. “Let’s change sides.” “No,” said Millicent. “This side shows my best side.”

Snowy white with a splash of orange for a beak and legs these geese can truly sneak up on you on a winter day. At least they do not have quite the same reputation as their Canadian counterparts *wink wink*

“Shall we take a selfie?” Honeycomb asked pengo as they drank in the scenery and admired their new friend next to them.

One of the friendliest birds of the Canadian winter. Many children have memories of standing outside with arms extended and feed in hand awaiting a bird to land and feed.

@ Polar Bear Ridge
Honeycomb and Avalanche were entranced at reaching this stopping place and eagerly posed for a picture standing on either side of the attractive creature they had just met!

The kings of the north reside here. While they appear large and overbearing they truly can be friendly and will invite you in for halibut.

In the peaceful morning you can barely see their outline in the mists coming over the lake. Listen carefully and you can hear their calls to one another as they gracefully glide across the water.

Honeycomb was very happy to meet Snickerdoodle here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

You never know what you will experience on the coast. Here we have the brilliant purple and pink sunset speckled by soaring seabirds in the sky. Looks like tomorrow should be a good day.

“Ooh, that’s a scary looking creature!” whispered Tiara Maxwell. “It’s bigger than me! I’ll stay here and wait for you to come back.” “C’mon, Tiara Maxwell, it’ll be fine—it’s not so very big; it's a trick of perspective, and anyway, it’s looking forward to meeting us!” said Honeycomb.

While Honeycomb paused to drink in the view, Listy started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, foldable camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Listy?” asked Honeycomb. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

Plug your nose! Things are about to get a little smelly around here. Where there are this many penguins there is sure to be a lot of guano! But with such cuties running around it is easy to ignore.

Honeycomb was excited to meet up again with Cashmere. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

This lil fella appears grumpy as he is often mistaken for a seal. He really would like to wear a sign saying I am not a seal but has thus far resisted. So please be kind when entering the beach here and do not upset the natives. They are quite friendly.

Honeycomb opened her rucksack to change her hat. Enty could see Honeycomb had a large, floppy sunhat, a balaclava, a rain hat, a woolly bobble hat, a beanie, a deerstalker hat and a swimming cap! “Did you bring a fez too?” Enty asked Honeycomb.

The ancient guardian of this rock will let you pass if you provide him with his favourite treat. Apparently he is really partial to strawberries and Macintosh apples.

Watch your step! Lounging harbour seals can be found everywhere here. It’s quite peaceful when they are sleeping but you may want earplugs when they awaken.

“You never know what sort of critter to expect next, do you, BRUNO?" whispered Honeycomb. “You know, small, cute and furry or really quite, um, large, with—er—very sharp teeth.” BRUNO reassured Honeycomb that all the critters were looking forward to meeting them, regardless of size, furriness, cuteness and/or type of teeth.

Sitting proud and alert the bald eagle is always on duty. He senses your approach before you are even aware of his presence. Stand calmly and admire his majesty.

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Honeycomb," said Zazzy, "for this experience alone?" Honeycomb, admiring the creature at the centre of the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

Hold onto your rocks! These penguins are notorious rock thieves. They sneak up on one another’s nests and steal pebbles to better their own nest. It appears these two penguins may be conspiring together. So hold onto your goods.

At the very depths of the ocean you have now reached Octopus Ridge. While it may appear a little scary at first we promise you will find things to be quite welcoming here. You never know what you will discover at great ocean depths.

It is ok. You can breathe. We just recommend staying in the middle of our shark cage here while we are at depth. Going close to the edge near the bars may be a little risky and ill advised. But isn’t that shark ever so graceful swimming around and stalking us?

Swimming and lazing around in the tropical waters one may be lucky to catch sight of these beauties floating by. Amidst the corals their colours almost glow as if illuminated by black light. Certainly a rare treat for anyone to see.

Snap on your scuba gear and go for a swim among these gentle giants. They are more likely that other whales to breech so do take care when in the water. If you aren’t so brave perhaps a Zodiac tour is more your speed.

Honeycomb has had a wonderful day, and has met lots of animals for the very first time, but now it is time for Honeycomb to go back to your page and relax.

Your pet will need to wrap up warmly and perhaps don snowshoes for this part of the quest! The journey starts in beautiful snowy scenes where some quite rare animals and birds are waiting to welcome your pet to their wintry world. The quest continues to cliffs, then rocky and sandy seashores and culminates in your pet sailing on the sea to view the watery world and its inhabitants! The octopus has promised to put in an appearance, and the shark has been practising his fiercest, most glary expression, but that’s to conceal his heart of gold and cuddly disposition! Bon voyage!
