The flag of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations dates from King Charles II colonial times and was officially adopted in 1897, with minor changes. The flag comprises a white field, with thirteen golden stars, representing the original thirteen colonies and the fact Rhode Island was the thirteenth and last colony to sign the Declaration of Independence. The state motto, "HOPE", is written with golden letters in a blue ribbon, below a golden anchor, that also represents hope, in reference to Biblical phrase "Hope we have as an anchor of the soul" (Hebrews 6:18-19).

The first painted eggs came from Mesopotamia, and because eggs were forbidden food during Lent, people painted eggs while Lent was being observed—after Lent, they would eat the eggs on Easter Day.

Beautifully decorated eggs “pysanka” are associated with Ukraine, and the oldest painted egg that was unearthed in northern Ukraine is dated to the end of the 17th century.

bunny was distracted by the sounds of loud rustling as Elsie unfolded a very large tourist map, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking bunny’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” said bunny, exasperated. “We’re about to pose beside this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up PDQ!”

Connecting Aquidneck and Conanicut Islands, the bridge is also called the Newport bridge. Named after Claiborne Pell, a Senator who lived in Newport, it's a great way to stay connected from island to island.
