ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 1/25

Moonbeam, a young mermaid with shimmering white hair, lives in an idyllic cabin in the meadow, but despite having the beauty of nature all around her and loyal friends close by, her heart is heavy because her sister Dawn has been missing since last Halloween and she misses her deeply. Midnight and Nebula suggest that the three of them go on a quest to find her.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 2/25

Moonbeam replies, “Oh, I would love to go look for her but I cannot fly like you can.” Midnight says, "No worries! I’ve got this! Just jump on my back and I’ll be your wings.” Moonbeam is touched by his kindness and gets on. As they are about to take off, Twinkle the baby dragon stops by to see Moonbeam and to inquire if she has heard from her sister Dawn yet. When she finds out they are going out to look for her Twinkle excitedly asks to go along.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 3/25

Since Twinkle has not yet grown wings and wonders if he’d have trouble keeping up, he asks Midnight, “I don’t weigh much and you look strong enough so may I ride with you and Moonbeam?” “No problem! I’ll be your wings too!” Midnight replies. Twinkle hops up and sits in Moonbeam’s lap and she wraps her arms around him snugly. The first thing they need to do is to go to see Twilight the wise owl to ask her where they should begin their journey.

Twilight advises them to take the trail leading to the Ancient Woods where the Grandmother Tree lives. She knows much about this realm and is sure to have a clue about Dawn's disappearance. She then asks Twinkle to cover his eyes and says I have a surprise for you! When he opens them he is excited to see a beautiful set of sparkly dragon wings. “Oh, I can’t wait to try them on! Thank you, Twilight.” “Well, I noticed you sitting in Moonbeam’s lap and thought they would make your journey easier. The wings are made by the fairies in the flower garden so they should serve you well.”

Nebula helps Twinkle to put on his new wings. He flaps excitedly and exclaims, “They fit perfect!” “Well, let’s practice a bit to make sure you know how they feel in flight,” suggested Nebula. Off they went into the air, soaring and swooping over the others. “Looks like they are perfect,” Moonbeam gushes. “Do you feel like you are ready to go?” “Yes, I’m ready. Let’s go find your sister,” the little dragon replied.

As they begin, Moonbeam notices several sparkling objects nestled among the blades of grass. She ponders whether Dawn could have left her a trail of gems leading to her whereabouts since she has always loved sparkly things. Her motto when we were growing up always was, “a girl’s gotta sparkle!” Or, are Hansel and Gretel off on one of their adventures again, since they are known for leaving a trail as well. Let’s follow it and see where it leads. "I'm in the mood for an adventure. Do you mind if I come along," asks Twilight. "We'd be happy if you joined us, we could use your wisdom on this journey," replied Moonbeam.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 7/25

The travelers were surprised to see that the trail of gemstones led to the Grandmother Tree. Moonbeam tells Grandmother Tree about her missing sister Dawn and the mysterious gemstones along the way. She excitedly asks if it is possible Dawn could have come by here. She tells Moonbeam, “I have never seen gems like these before and if Dawn came by here it must have been while I was sleeping because I didn’t see her.” Moonbeam was disappointed to hear that the wisest being in the realm offered no clues.
Meanwhile, the story of the unique gems has greatly intrigued Twinkle, and his dragon impulse to hoard treasures leads him to hurriedly gather all he can find and place them in a basket he found nearby on the ground.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 8/25

Wondering what they are going to do now, the weary travelers encourage Moonbeam to continue following the gems through the Ancient Forest as they are certain to find a good clue soon. A sudden gust of wind howls through the trees, sending most of the leaves swirling to the ground, almost covering up the gems. Twilight helps Twinkle to gather what gems are still visible.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 9/25

Night falls in the forest and they begin looking for a place to rest. They come upon some bats preparing a big pot of soup and their tummies begin to rumble as they smell the delightful aroma. The bats generously offer for the group to join them for supper. Midnight places Moonbeam on a decorative pumpkin while he gets her a bowl of hot soup. After they are finished eating the bats encourage them to spend the night there. “Since we bats stay up all night, we will happily watch over you and make sure you are safe while you sleep.” “Oh, thank you for your hospitality, kind bats (yawn),” Moonbeam sighs as she curls up with her companions in a big pile to keep warm.

They wake up the next morning feeling refreshed and thank their kind hosts. The bats offer some encouraging news when they tell the group of their bat cousins in the village a day’s journey ahead. After a long and arduous trek following the ever-present gemstones, they finally arrive at the village and they chuckle when they see the same delicious bubbly green soup. Midnight quips, “I guess they sure love this stuff in these parts, don’t they,” as he dishes it out to his companions.

The festively decorated road lifts the spirits of the group as they follow the undulating path strewn with gemstones. Twinkle needs to pay attention where he is flying and not be so engrossed with his treasures because he nearly got stuck in a spider web.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 12/25

The gemstones lead Moonbeam and her friends to a shallow river. They spot the familiar sparklies peeking out of the mossy clumps and on stones in the riverbed. Moonbeam is excited that the path leads through the water, but as she gets ready to slip into the river for a swim, she realized that her companions would probably prefer not to get wet. The group decides to rent a large peapod boat instead.

Midnight is overjoyed to see that they are passing a farm with freshly baled hay in the field and wishes to stop because he’s never been on a farm before and wonders what kind of pets live there. The rest of the group decides that stopping to see a farm would be something enjoyable and might be a good place to rest for the night. Midnight hops into a large pile of leaves and Nebula is contemplating whether she wants to join him. Moonbeam and Twinkle are content to just relax on the hay bales while Twilight exchanges words of wisdom with the barn owls.

Stopping at the farm is turning out to be a great idea as Moonbeam and her friends are greatly enjoying being with all the animals that live at Sunset Valley Animal Sanctuary. It makes them happy to see that the animals have found a good home after being rescued. One of the sheep is acting silly, pretending to be a king by placing a large jewel on his head. Who knew sheep could be so funny? I guess laughter does make a heart merry.

Seeing guests, Henrietta hippo looks up from munching her hay bale and mumbles a friendly ‘hello.’ Twinkle asks, “Hi, did you grow up here?” Henrietta replies, “No, I retired from the circus. I was a tight-rope walker. It was fun but I’m living my best life now here on the sanctuary.” Surprised, Twinkle exclaims, “Wow, I wish I could have seen that!” Henrietta answers, “Look on PetTube; I’m sure you can find a video. Hey, do you like my earring? It’s much more fashionable than those ear tags other animals wear, don’t you think?

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 16/25

Moonbeam is happy to see so many different animals grazing in the sanctuary. She hopes one of them has seen her sister Dawn, but when she asks, she finds out that none of them has. Jimmy the giraffe is giving Twinkle a ride and the baby dragon is having such a great time. Jimmy sees Moonbeam looking sad and tries to cheer her up by offering her a ride too. She politely declines as she tells him that the only thing that would make her happy is to find her sister. “Hmmm,” he ponders, “I think Hansel and Gretel’s cottage isn’t too far from here. Maybe they know something about her.” Moonbeam thanks Jimmy for his encouraging words and tells the others she is tired and wants to look for a place to sleep.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 17/25

The gecko, sunning nearby, overhears Moonbeam that she needs a place to rest and tells her he knows of the perfect place. He takes her to his favorite cave and brings her what looks like a soft, feathery wing to sleep on. Twinkle gets her a bottle of water to drink and gives her a reassuring hug that everything will be alright. As Moonbeam lays her head down, she is hopeful that the next day’s journey will finally give her a clue that will help her find her sister.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 18/25

Today’s journey, although long, seemed to go by quicker than on previous days. As the sun was beginning to set, they noticed a familiar looking cottage. It was Hansel and Gretel’s gingerbread cottage! The group hurried to the door and knocked on it sharply. Now Moonbeam can find out if has been Dawn or Gretel leaving gems on the trail. Gretel tells her, “No, I don’t use gems, I use pebbles. Look, the gems continue on past my cottage. It must be a trail left by your sister!” Nebula notices another rosy-hued wing lying on the ground. Moonbeam exclaims, “Wait, I was so tired last night that I didn’t notice. That is the color of my sister’s hair. I think she is leaving me another clue!”

They set up camp beside the calm waters of a gently flowing river, but Moonbeam and her friends can hardly sleep that night because of the exciting clue she found earlier. The butterflies begin flapping their wings in unison making a soft whooshing sound and the crickets sing a lullaby to help them relax. Sleep finally comes and Moonbeam dreams of being reunited with her sister Dawn.

Moonbeam wakes up in the middle of the night to get a drink from the river and notices the sky is dancing with the spectacular beauty of the aurora borealis. Her ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ cause the others to wake and they too, are thrilled with what they see. Nebula has discovered another rosy wing lying on the ground. Now there is no way Moonbeam can go back to sleep, so when she gets the idea that the aurora borealis could light their way, they decide to get an early start to the day's journey.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 21/25

As the aurora borealis gives way to the faint light of morning Moonbeam can hardly believe her eyes. Oh, the irony that she would find her sister Dawn as the new day is dawning. “Thank you, Aurora, for waking me up and guiding my way to my beloved sister! Oh my, Dawn, what have you found? I know you have always loved sparkly things, but that is an incredibly huge gem!” Dawn exclaims, "Oh I am so happy you finally found me. I had hoped my trail of gems would guide you. This giant gemstone is too heavy for me to carry home. I am going to need some help."

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 22/25

Moonbeam tells Dawn all the details of the journey and the experiences her friends have shared, and Dawn relates how excited she was to find such a rare gem. As they begin to plan their way back home Dawn says we should just follow the gemstones; they will lead us back home. “Uh oh, cries Twinkle, I collected most of them. I’m sorry, I couldn’t help it, we dragons love to hoard treasures.” “Don’t cry Twinkle, it’s ok, we’ll find another way,” Moonbeam tenderly comforts her friend.

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 23/25

As Moonbeam, Dawn, and their friends ponder their predicament, Twilight remembers her discussion with the barn owls at the animal sanctuary. They told her of a magical river that leads to a cozy cabin in a sunny meadow. “Moonbeam, that’s where you live! I know how to get us home now! We just have to follow the Magic River! It's right here!”

ESTRELLA is questing! Episode 24/25

As they headed out on their journey home, Nebula got an idea. She decided she was going to go back and protect Dawn’s gem and wait for the others to return. “Oh, thank you, Nebula, what a thoughtful idea. We’ll be back as soon as we can. I will ask my neighbor if we can borrow a horse and wagon. See you soon,” Midnight shouted, as Nebula disappeared out of their sight.

Moonbeam, Dawn, Midnight, Twilight, and Twinkle (and Nebula too) are so grateful for all your help and encouragement and would like you to have twenty golden moles as a thank you. They would have given you twenty gemstones, but those belong to Twinkle now, so I’m sure you can find a good use for these instead. Goodbye!
