This rocky bay provides the perfect place for anypet to rest, play with the numerous pebbles and watch the changing patterns of sunlight on the stone outcrops and distant peaks, or perhaps to dip a cautious paw into the unceasing sea waves running in and back out.

Of all the pets Sally might have met here, Feefee was the last she expected. But what a great view!

Anypet will enjoy exploring the sand dunes with their sharply pointed grey-green leaves and large spikes of creamy-yellow flowers of marram grass in the summer, the backdrop to a sandy beach and the sea.

"Come on tigg, pick up the pace a little, will you?" Scolded Sally, hoping to get in a little more sight seeing before changeover...

This beautiful little bay is irresistible to pets who can’t wait to scamper or flap over the golden sand to get to the top of the stony peninsula and gaze far out to the horizon over the sea.

Admiring the view, Sally felt genuinely glad she had taken Casper's advice on where the friends would meet up!

Arriving at such a wonderful location spurred Sally on to keep on trekking. However Snuggles sat down, refusing to budge, complaining of blisters on his paws...

Sally had to travel on alone, as Elmeri declared he had found his nirvana, and had no intention of moving on!

Of all the pets Sally might have met here, Fino was the last she expected. But what a great view!

As birds fly home to roost and busy pets retire for the night, the West Pasture in Aegis becomes darker and quiet in the setting sun, waiting for the first stirrings from nocturnal pets who are active during the night.

After months of planning, Sally and Cuckoo finally agreed on where they would travel together, and they are both secretly please with their choice!

A favourite gathering point in the summer in Aegis is the Apple Orchard. What pet can resist sinking their little teeth or beaks into such invitingly juicy fruit?

While Sally normally avoids tourist hotspots, she is glad she allowed Cheyenne to bring her here!

On Sunday afternoons, many pets take an excursion in the formal gardens, which display the Dutch influence of bright tulips making a fine splash of colour against the immaculate lawn.

While Sally soaked in the view, Ameriglo was searching his backpack for the bug spray, certain that his fur would be crawling with little biting critters once the sun went down!

Sally finally makes it back to the landing stage, where VV is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Sally pockets a map of Aegis as a momento. The guidebook says:
Island: Aegis
When their vessel carefully manoeuvres past the rocks to reach the landing stage, the pets can jump out and explore this delightful little island. There are beautiful, relaxing sandy beaches, rocky hills to climb, a viaduct and old castle ruin to explore, green pastures to take a picnic hamper, woods and forests to ramble in, rivers to jump over, apples to pick and there are flowers galore!
