The poppy can have many symbolic meanings in different cultures, for example, restful sleep and recovery. For others, it is a cheery harbinger of summer because of its size and intense colors. On this island there is a huge swathe of red poppies, providing a feast for the eyes and senses.

Diamond tumbled out of the tourist bus, flattening Sir Barkey Barksalot in the process, then wondering where the muffled groans were coming from?

What better place could there be for happy young pets than a game of hide and seek in this never-ending vista of yellow? Everypet is soon covered with pollen from nose, beak, snout or muzzle to tail! Just don't sneeze and give your whereabouts away! ... ninety-nine, a hundred—coming, ready or not!

While Diamond was busy snapping photos, Flora wandered off to find a suitable bush, as there was a decided lack of amenities in the immediate area!

Diamond finally makes it back to the landing stage, where Twitch is also about to embark and go home. What an adventure it has been! Diamond pockets a map of L'île Mystère as a momento. The guidebook says:

What an adventure this island will prove to be! There are opportunities for rambling up hill and down dale, and splendid views across lakes and mountains. There are fields of aromatic and colourful flowers. At one point in their exploration the pets will meet a huge reptile but rest assured—it will do no harm! Bon voyage!
