The first painted eggs came from Mesopotamia, and because eggs were forbidden food during Lent, people painted eggs while Lent was being observed—after Lent, they would eat the eggs on Easter Day.

Beautifully decorated eggs “pysanka” are associated with Ukraine, and the oldest painted egg that was unearthed in northern Ukraine is dated to the end of the 17th century.

“Do you remember our last safari, Jubb Jubb?” exclaimed Pandie. "I remember being really quite scared, trying to find the way out of that labyrinth in the dark!"
Jubb Jubb agreed. “D'you remember that scorpion? It was quite a shock coming across him in the light of the dim and flaring lamps, although he turned out to be very nice in the end.”
"It's hard to believe that was two years ago, Jubb Jubb," remarked Pandie.

“It's so cool to have a species name in Latin as well as English, Pandie!” said Foxy Sir, studying the detail in the tour guide. "What would we each called in Latin?"
"I don't know," said Pandie. "We'll look it up when we get back to the hotel tonight!"

Barely cracking the glossy surface, my stealth mode is millions of years in the making! Some say I'm still left from the dinosaurs, but we both know that I'm just perfect and never needed to change!

Translucent in color, these colorful creatures anchor themselves to the roots and rocks in the warm waters in the Indian River. Just don't startle them, they don't respond well!
