"Do you think we'll see some elk like we did on Snow Beach that time, Choose a name?" asked Webster.
"Oh yes, we're bound to. Gosh, Webster, do you remember those sharks, and the octopus as well? Poor Fresco took one look and hid in the bottom of the boat!" responded Choose a name.

From across the road, Baby surveyed the current stop on their map. “Would you fancy living there, Webster?”
"Well, it's certainly a bit different to where we live," said Webster. "But I could get used to it, I daresay!"

Another opportunity to meet a Canada Goose, with her offspring! In recent years, Prince Edward Island has been an important migration stop for the Canada Goose in both spring and autumn.

“It would be great fun to camp overnight, wouldn't it, Mocha?” said Webster.
Mocha shivered. “Brrrrrrrr! I think it would be a little too cold, Webster! I like my creature comforts!"

“If there's time at the end when we get back to the hotel tonight, I might do some initial sketches for a watercolour painting," Pricilla said, offering Webster a maple syrup toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for herself.

“I’ve come prepared for anything, Webster,” responded Drozan. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name it, I’ve got it!”

“Wouldn't it be lovely to live in a lighthouse like this one pictured in our itinerary in Nova Scotia? So romantic!" mused Webster, nibbling on a taffy lolly.
"Well, I don't know," said Mimosa. "It's not all about drinking coffee and gazing at the sea. You have to run up and down stairs, operate the light and the foghorn, and there may be no running water or electricity apart from a generator."
Webster considered this. "Mine would be a luxurious, converted, non-operational lighthouse, then."

“Shall we stop and eat our packed lunch here, Webster?” asked Glenda Fluster .
“Yes, it seems a good spot, Glenda Fluster! Let's perch on those tree stumps there! I can't wait to sink my teeth into those slices of bannock!"

North Rustico is a charming fishing village just five minutes from Cavendish, home of the Lucy Maud Montgomery Heritage Site. It's a must-see location for all fans of Anne of Green Gables!

Webster and Cocoa were entranced on reaching this Canadian viewpoint and eagerly posed for a picture standing on either side!

“Let's hope Foxy doesn't get as seasick on these Canadian lakes as he did on Lake Windermere in England that time, Webster!” said Sir Fluffle Bottom, studying the future itinerary.
"Can you get seasick on a lake?" asked Webster.
"Oh yes, indeedy," said Sir Fluffle Bottom.
New Brunswick Beachcombing
Beachcombing is a soothing activity which involves combing the shoreline to see what objects of interest you can see. This could be shells, pebbles, seaglass or even something more unusual! Beaches can be very specific in what they collect, due to currents, geography and offshore habitats. Some beaches are good for driftwood, others for mermaid’s purses.

“I’ve come prepared for anything, Webster,” responded Lalique. “There’s canvas deck shoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, sandshoes, walking boots, sandals, loafers—you name it, I’ve got it!”

“Listen to this, choco,” said Webster. “’Culinary expert Delia Smith described maple syrup to be a unique ingredient, smooth and silky-textured, with a sweet, distinctive flavour—hints of caramel with overtones of toffee—and a rare colour, amber set alight. The maple flavour is uniquely different from any other.’”
“We trust our Delia,” intoned choco solemnly. “Pass the jug!”
Canadian Blue Jay
The blue jay is found throughout most of Canada, with the exception of the far west of the country. It is the provincial bird of PEI. The blue jay’s vivid cobalt or azure-blue tail and wing feathers make an exotic contrast against brown leaves or green grass. However, these feathers are not truly blue, as blue pigment is unknown in birds. The blue jay’s feather colour results from refraction, or distortion, of light by a peculiar inner structure of the feather substance.

“’Maple syrup is made from the xylem sap of maple trees. The trees most commonly used are sugar maple, red maple and black maple because of the high sugar content in the sap,’” read out Polly from the brochure.
“It’s making me hungry, Polly!” declared Webster. “Perhaps I’ll just nibble a corner of one of the maple syrup scones the hotel packed us for elevenses!”
Northern Cardinal
A great number of birds, including the Northern Cardinal and Blue Jay, have evolved to remain in Canada throughout the year. Many flock together, sometimes with other species, and huddle to help retain heat. This also reduces the need to watch out for predators. Most remain active by feeding on nuts, dried fruit, seeds, twigs and branches in the vegetation. Many of these species flock to bird feeders, where they supplement their diet with fatty items.

“How do you spell ‘Saskatchewan’, Webster?” mused Alex, clutching a postcard and sucking the end of his pen. “Is it a “c” or a “k” in the middle? I can never remember!”
“Simples,” grinned Webster. “Put an ‘S’. Now put Ask At Chew An and Bob’s your uncle.”
Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia
Nova Scotia, which is Latin for "New Scotland", is home to the largest Scottish Gaelic-speaking community outside of Scotland and their flag is a reversal in colours of Scotland's, consisting of a blue saltire on a white field. Peggy's Cove is a small rural community located on the eastern shore of St. Margarets Bay.

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Webster," said Choose a name, "for this experience alone?"

Peggy's Point Lighthouse
Peggy's Point Lighthouse is an active lighthouse and an enduring image of Canada. Situated within Peggy's Cove, Nova Scotia, it is one of the busiest tourist attractions in the province and is a prime attraction on the Lighthouse Trail scenic drive. The lighthouse is operated by the Canadian Coast Guard and is situated on a granite outcrop at Peggy's Point, immediately south of the village and its cove. The red and white lighthouse is one of the most-photographed structures in Atlantic Canada and one of the most recognisable lighthouses in the world.

Webster and Whoot came across each other in the hotel bar. "Hey, Whoot, what are you going to have?"
"I thought I'd try Canada’s national cocktail, the Caesar, Webster. It's made of vodka, clamato juice, tabasco and Worcestershire sauce."
Webster looked puzzled. "What's clamato juice, Whoot?"
"Tomato juice with clams and chilli!"

“Let’s pose with one of us each side of this attraction and I’ll set the self-timer to take a shot,” said Webster to Julian. “It’ll be a fab souvenir of our time here!”
Bras d'Or Lake
Bras d'Or Lake is an estuary in the centre of Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. It has a connection to the open sea, and is tidal. It also has inflows of fresh water from rivers, making the brackish water a very productive natural habitat. It was designated the Bras d'Or Lake Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 2011.
