@ Scarlet Pathway
Razzle Dazzle and Petunia are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Purple
A country ramble awaits the pets and after exploring woodland paths, a small settlement will be found. At the spice store they will find cinnamon, chillies, star anise and chestnuts, plus purple flowers for perfumery. They will skirt a small lake before seeing a host of pink and purple-hued flowers and plants. Don't forget to grab an apple or two to munch as you head out onto the next stage of our tour!

As we begin our journey we are welcomed by a wonderful scarlet pathway. With the vivid canopy above, the crunchy leaves under our feet, and the sun-kissed trees on the side of the trail, we anticipate what beauty lies ahead.

@ Illusion of Nightfall
Razzle Dazzle was very happy to meet Splash here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

Proceeding along the trail something unexpected happens right away. The canopy becomes so dense it gives the illusion of impending nightfall. The light beckons you ahead.

@ Undulating Road
Razzle Dazzle and Sunshine, having shaken paws, got so engrossed in conversation about the beautiful scenery that they had to hurry along so as not to be left behind! They regretfully bade au revoir and auf Wiedersehen to each other!

The light leads us to the remnants of a paved gently undulating road shrouded with trees just beginning to lose their leaves. We wonder what pets have journeyed through here in times gone by.

@ Autumn Rice Field
Razzle Dazzle and Unitee pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

This journey is definitely full of surprises! One never knows what to expect as they round the bend of life and this rice field is the perfect example. Who knew rice could grow here in the cool autumn temperatures?

@ Sunlight Road
Asteroidea shook paws with Razzle Dazzle and was just enjoying the view when she was distracted by loud rustling as Razzle Dazzle unfolded a very lengthy Autumn Experience itinerary, in the course of which she succeeded in knocking Asteroidea’s hat off. “Put that away, do!” snapped Asteroidea. “I’m about to take a photo of this amazing scene—the picture will be of your map if you don’t fold it up pronto!”
Sunlight Road
The undulating road has smoothed out and we are bathed in the warm rays of sunshine as they illuminate the path ahead and the glory of the autumn leaves.

@ Wild Blueberries
Hubris and Razzle Dazzle shook paws with each other and compared notes as to how their respective trips had gone so far, and which was the most delicious harvest item they had each come across.

Just as your tummy begins to rumble you spot these deeply colored wild blueberries in the brush beside the trail. The color is much deeper than the berries you have seen at the market and your mouth begins to water. Perfect timing and oh-so-refreshing!

@ Fresh Chestnuts
“These are great as a cake flavouring,” said Razzle Dazzle.
“You can add it to savoury dishes as well. It’s very versatile,” observed Mittens.

As soon as my eyes catch the sight of these baskets of freshly harvested chestnuts, washed and ready to purchase, a familiar song gets stuck in my head. Is it too early to sing Christmas carols?

@ Vision in Violet
“These make a fine display, don’t they, Razzle Dazzle?” said FLEECE, when she and Razzle Dazzle had shaken paws.

Pets who love the color purple will be captivated by the intense color of this gorgeous violet flower. The vendor claims it will last for weeks as a cut flower so no reason to leave without buying a bouquet.

@ Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise
Inspired by the sunny day, Misty said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Razzle Dazzle took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Misty hastily revised her romantic harvest vision.
Cinnamon Sticks and Star Anise
Nothing smells like autumn like the aroma of hot spiced apple cider. Combine cinnamon sticks, star anise, oranges studded with whole cloves, brown sugar, allspice, nutmeg, and apple cider into a pot and steep them all together for a favorite fall drink.

@ Purple Potpourri
"This is a glorious specimen, Twiggy", observed Razzle Dazzle. "What a shame that in a month or so all this colour will be gone!"
"You know the best way to get colour in your garden all year, Razzle Dazzle?" said Twiggy. "Buy a garden gnome!"

Flare and Razzle Dazzle counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Flare.

"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked Pansy.
"Well," said Razzle Dazzle, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

Also called African daisies, these beautiful flowers are a profusion of purple from spring to frost. So easy to grow and you will be in purple heaven for three seasons!

@ Log Cabin in the Woods
B. Ugger nearly stumbled over Razzle Dazzle, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said Razzle Dazzle. “This just cries out to be painted!”

Ahhh, here it is, our lodging for tonight. We came upon this log cabin just in time as I need to stop and rest awhile. This cozy cabin in the woods looks so warm and inviting. We should get a good night's sleep in this peaceful spot! I do hope they have a porch swing to relax on!

“What an amazing view!” exclaimed Razzle Dazzle after shaking paws with Cherish Scrappy Demure, who agreed with her. Razzle Dazzle was excited to meet up again with Cherish Scrappy Demure. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

“What’s this flower called?” Razzle Dazzle said to Midnight. “Er—I only know the Latin name for it,” said Midnight and hastily changed the subject.

What an extremely rare sight! I bet you didn't know there was a variety of lilacs that blooms in the fall. Well, there is! It's called Josee Reblooming Lilac. Lilacs, not just for spring anymore!

While Razzle Dazzle paused to enjoy the view, Wee Willie started scrabbling in its rucksack for its portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, Wee Willie?” asked Razzle Dazzle. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

Valentino bent down to sniff the flower in front of him but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Valentino?” asked Razzle Dazzle.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Valentino.

Pale pink and dark purple leaves make this a quite dramatic poinsettia plant! And no, it's not too early to think about poinsettias because if we want them to look like this they need to be placed into a dark room several months before Christmas so that the leaves change colors.

Razzle Dazzle and Lucky shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Razzle Dazzle. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Lucky. “This is my best side.”

Soft and wispy, like a daydream, these delicate-looking flowers are anything but that. They are actually a sturdy wildflower, blooming all summer long through the end of autumn.

Razzle Dazzle is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Beatrice comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Beatrice. Razzle Dazzle looks down and sees something valuable. Beatrice generously lets Razzle Dazzle keep it!
