Billie Jo and Starlite are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground North
All the fun of the fair is here to provide your pet with entertainment and thrills, from waterslide to big wheel. And has your pet a strong enough stomach for a death-defying rollercoaster ride? To help restore your pet's equilibrium after all the excitements of the fairground rides, there are stalls selling hot potato snacks, popcorn, toffee apples, candy and delicious cakes and other yummy delights made from the autumn harvest produce! We hope everypet will leave clutching at least one of the fun carnival novelties!

@ Gingerbread Fairings
“That should keep me going till I get home tonight,” said Delilah to Billie Jo, while crumpling her used food container and placing it carefully in a litter bin.
“Or at least until the next food stall!” observed Billie Jo.

Fairings is the traditional name for edible souvenirs sold at fairs throughout England. These ginger fairings became associated with Cornish fairs and are still popular in the region.

@ Guten Rutsch!
The ride had started off fairly gently, but was now gathering speed at a great rate! Splash and Billie Jo had met just as it was starting and had managed to shake paws and say “Hello” before the ride deprived them both of breath!

“Hey, Rosie!” called out Billie Jo, as they shook paws. “This is quite a change from Snow Beach, isn’t it? I thought I’d got frostbite there! Here, have some of this yummy snack.”

Billy goat bruff met Billie Jo at one of the refreshment stands. Billy goat bruff groaned slightly and clutched his tum. “I’m going to go and sit down for a while first, Billie Jo. I need to recover from that last ride!”

@ Pommes Frites Treat
Billie Jo came up to the snackbar where the vendor was just handing over a very large portion to star. "Gosh, star, you're like those ravenous guinea pigs in Meadowlands! I'd never seen animals eating with such diligence before!"

"Can we come back here soon, Billie Jo?" asked Whisper, wide-eyed with excitement as she surveyed the delights of the fairground.
"You'll have to ask Uncle David," said Billie Jo. "He might have something even more incredible planned for our next excursion!"

Jake got carefully down from the ride, stumbling slightly and holding tightly onto the sides. "I say, you do look a bit green, Jake, old thing!" said Billie Jo. "I'm reminded of when you got seasick on our Crocodile Creek trip!"
"I was not seasick," said Jake with dignity. "I had merely eaten something that disagreed with me."

Big wheel installations became an icon of World's Fairs and Exhibitions and an example at Earl's Court in London erected in 1894 expressed fine engineering combined with opulence. Meanwhile, across the Pond, George Ferris led the way in big wheel design.

“Hello again, Billie Jo!” called dragolia. “Do you want to join me on this ride?”
“You bet—let me just finish my ice cream!” dragolia waited while Billie Jo had the last lick of ice cream and munched the last inch of cornet, then they excitedly queued up for the ride!

The world's oldest roller coasters descended from specially constructed hills of snow in the gardens of palaces around the Russian capital, St Petersburg, in the 18th century. The slides were built to a height of between 70 ft - 80 ft (21-24 m), had a 50 degree drop. These slides became popular with the Russian upper class."Russian mountains" remains the term for roller coasters in many languages, such as Spanish (la montaña rusa), Italian (montagne russe), and French (les montagnes russes). Ironically, the Russian term for roller coaster, "amerikanskie gorki", translates literally as "American mountains."

Shamika and Billie Jo watched the antics on the waterslide as they stood in the line of pets waiting to board the next ride. "Remember when Foxy leant too far over the bridge in Meadowlands that time, and fell in the pond with a huge splash?" asked Billie Jo. "My stomach muscles ached from laughing for days!"

As sunset falls, you enjoy the ever-changing view as you chug a little further upwards and then pause as each pod takes on its precious cargo of pets eager to enjoy the ride. Then when all the pods are full, the wheel starts to turn, building up speed!

"Mmmm—I probably shouldn't feel this way, but it's lovely to sit here scarfing French fries, doughnuts, candy floss and then a helping of this!" said wiggles.
