Chief Eamon is questing! Episode 1/25

It's time to decorate but Peppermint is having a hard time because she misses her father. When she pulled the box of decorations out of the closet, she saw the ornaments the two of them made together and began to cry. After reading the letter he wrote, Peppermint decides to go find him. Chief Eamon and Nicky don't think she should make the journey alone so they decide to go with her. Peppermint prepares for the journey by making cookies from her grandma's recipe book for them to eat along the way.

Chief Eamon suggests they start with the nearest town on the map, Hope, and tells Peppermint, "Maybe something in that town can help cheer you up."

Peppermint remembers what her grandma taught her to do when she feels sad and decides to spread some random kindness. They have packed plenty of cookies and she reaches into her sack and grabs several wrapped goodies and knocks on the door. A family of arctic foxes smiles as Peppermint hands the cookies to them and says, "Merry Christmas to all of you." Mama fox thanks her and says, "Before you go, I want to give you something as well. We just finished decorating and have an extra string of twinkle lights." "Oh thank you. I love decorations. When I find my father we will return home and put these on our tree."

Peppermint and Nicky arrive in the town of Hope and give a cookie to the dog at the gate and walk over to the cute little baby cheerling sitting on the fence. "Since you are a cheerling, do you know how to not feel sad?" "Why, of course, I do! Whenever I am sad, I remember to go help another pet. It really works!" Peppermint thanks the cheerling and gives her a cookie. Joy takes her scarf off and gives it to Peppermint so she can stay warm on her journey.

Seeing a cozy log cabin, Peppermint and Nicky walk up to the outdoorsy-looking critter and offer him a cookie. Remembering Joy's advice they also offer to help him cut firewood. "Yukon's my name and I love living in the woods. Thank you for your kind offer to help and for this delicious cookie. I am getting a bit tuckered out." They ate a cookie together and then got busy cutting firewood. When they finished, Yukon gave Peppermint a stuffed animal for her to cuddle at night. "Thank you, Yukon, and have a very happy holiday!"

The next homes they see belong to two lemur sisters. Peppermint places some cookies in their basket and wishes them a very joyous Christmas. Nicky asks Peppermint if she is feeling any better because every pet that she meets she is giving a cookie to. Peppermint replies, "Oh yes, I am enjoying this very much. Do you think that Chief Eamon has ever been sad and might like to do something like this, too?"

According to our map, we are now in the town of Wonder, and what a wonderful winter wonderland it is! Three majestic stags run out to greet the little travelers. Peppermint places the basket in front of them and tells them to enjoy the cookies! Nicky hopes they have packed enough cookies for the journey. One of the stags gives Peppermint a beautiful snowy ornament in the shape of a tree. It seems Peppermint isn't the only one who enjoys giving.

Peppermint and Nicky look in amazement as they come upon the next town, Sugarplum. Neither of them had ever been here before so they had no idea how magical it looked! The sugar plum fairies had never seen a map before nor eaten such delicious cookies. Was there a bit of real magic in the ingredients? Will their curiosities inspire them to venture out and see what that wintry symbol on the map means? Peppermint and Nicky invite them to come along but they decline as they don't think they are ready for an adventure just yet. Maybe soon. The sugar plum fairies wish them well as they continue on their journey to find Peppermint's father.

Four acrobatic penguins entertain Peppermint and Nicky with their antics and silliness. Peppermint didn't think she would be able to feel happiness again but these little adorable penguins are helping her to know that no matter what happens, she will be okay. The four penguins gleefully scamper about when Peppermint gives them all some of her cookies. There is even a penguin cookie that delights them even more as soon as they see it!

As the duo get closer they discover two portals guarded by two dragons. Only one portal is the correct one to lead to Peppermint's father. The blue dragon tells them a riddle that they have to answer correctly. The pink portal has a fire-breathing dragon that will burn anything that enters the portal. The blue portal has magnifying glasses on all surfaces so the sun will burn anything that enters the portal. Which portal do they choose? Nicky chooses the right portal and says we can pass safely as it is night and therefore no sun can harm them. He is correct! Phew!

They quickly pass through to find a huge room filled with dusty old books. The wise old owl will give them information but it will cost them their entire basket of cookies. He must really love cookies! Or does he sense some magical power in the cookies and wants to use that power himself? Peppermint agrees and tells Nicky not to worry as she is confident they will find the food they need as they continue.

Outside the library room, a carriage awaits to take them to the next town. The magical flower pet emerges from the castle and Nicky, thinking he still has cookies to give, reaches into the basket and gets a big surprise. "Look Peppermint! The basket is full of cookies again!" Nicky exclaimed with wide-eyed excitement. Peppermint just smiled as she knew all along that as long as a crumb remained, the basket of cookies would never go empty. She had used her grandma's magical secret recipe. No wonder the owl wanted them!

"The North Pole!! We're at the North Pole! I've always wanted to see what it looked like here," exclaimed Nicky, excitedly jumping up and down. He tried to get a peek inside the buildings to see if he could spot Santa, but all he could see was Santa's elves. He wondered if they were busy getting the gifts he asked Santa for at the mall last week. He and Peppermint were so happy that they were able to leave cookies for the elves and they made sure to leave a few extra for Santa as well.

The little town of Gingerbread is their next stop. Buster, Freddie, Jack, and Max are the friendliest pups so they get the job of being the village greeters. Nobody coming to this town is going to get by without a proper puppy greeting. The fact that Peppermint and Nicky have a big basket of cookies ups the ante and the pups make sure to give their best licks and tail wags, and maybe a sniff or two.

Castle fairies, Trixie and Dixie tell Peppermint and Nicky that they saw her father just last week as he passed by. The fairies may look sweet but that's only so you will let your guard down and be bewitched by them. You must always be careful of their magic. They sometimes give you wrong directions to lead you off the trail and into the witch's lair.

Uh oh, it looks like the directions we got from the castle fairies were meant to lead us astray. Don't worry, we'll just give the witches some of our magical cookies so they will allow us to pass without any further trickery. Now I'm really glad we brought them along with us because we needed a little magic to get us out of that situation.

The forest fairies are glad to see we made it past the witch's lair and asked Peppermint for the magic cookie recipe so that they could protect all future travelers as well as all nearby townspeople. Peppermint agreed under one condition, that they never share the recipe with anyone so it can stay a secret.

Chief Eamon is questing! Episode 18/25

True to their names,' two cheery green and purple cheerlings named Holly Cheerling and Berry Cheerling come out from their matching green and purple houses to cheerily greet Peppermint and Nicky. The pair of travelers cheerfully give the cheerlings some of their cookies and they respond with a cheery, "Thank you and Merry Cheerling Christmas!"

Chief Eamon is puzzled at this scene wonders if our travelers took a wrong turn back at that intersection. he never would have expected to find spring chicks and beach chairs and campers on a Christmas quest! Oh well, maybe the chicks can't wait for warmer weather and are trying to have fun even in the cold and snow. That might not be a bad idea after all, being determined to find joy in life no matter what.

Peppermint and Nicky see a large home and before they can knock on the door two very active mice bound out of the door and greet them. Coffeen and Teana are our names and we are here to welcome you inside and offer you a nice hot drink of your choice to warm you up. "Perfect," chimed Peppemint, "We are so needing to rest a bit. Please take these cookies as a thank you for your kindness."

As Nicky and Peppermint come to the troll village Nicky becomes concerned and wonders if they should not give them any cookies. He had heard that you should never feed trolls as it only makes them become more ornery and troublesome. Peppermint decides to dismiss that thought and to continue spreading the joy of her cookies to everyone. Besides, even grumpy trolls need a little love, right.

Peppermint cannot believe what she sees as she rounds the bend. She has found her father! "Papa!" she squeals as they run to each other. "I'm so happy I found you! It looks like lots of other little elves have also found their daddies, and are all going to have a very happy Christmas together, just like us. Let's go home, we have some decorating to do!"

Papa found a shortcut to get home through the woods and takes Peppermint and Nicky by the hand and tells them of his experience in the elf village and how he couldn't wait to get home. He apologized for it taking so long but Peppermint was just so glad to see him that none of that mattered anymore. "I see you have a few new decorations. Well, we will have such fun decorating together very soon," Papa said warmly.

It's so good to finally be home! Peppermint asks Papa if Nicky can stay and help them put up all the decorations. "Why, of course, your little friend is welcome here in our home any time for being such a good friend and companion to you!" Soon the home was festively decorated, inside and out, and they felt so happy that everything turned out so well.

"Not so fast Peppermint. You can't just leave me hanging like that," Chief Eamon said. "I found your grandma's secret magical cookie recipe and I'm going to tell everyone." Peppermint begged, "No, please don't. If I give you 20 gold pieces will you promise to keep it a secret?" "Sounds like a good deal to me," Chief Eamon replied. "Your secret is safe with me! Merry Christmas!"
