Fernin and Choose a name are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground South
Roll up! Roll up! After sunset the fairground is transformed into a glittering arena of swirling lights, with a backdrop of squawks, yelps and howls from pets clinging on for dear life to the scary rollercoaster and whirling round on the fluorescently lit big wheel! The best view is of course from the top, so c'mon, everypet, and have the experience of your life! For pets preferring a gentler ride, hold on tightly to the reins while our carousel horses look after you on a circular journey under a blue starry canopy. Then it's time to indulge in candy, popcorn, gingerbread and pumpkin pie made from the fall harvest! Hopefully everypet will have enough silver moles left to buy a magnificent helium balloon to take home ...

@ Caballo Carousel
Archie got carefully down from the ride, stumbling slightly and holding tightly onto the sides. "I say, you do look a bit green, Archie, old thing!" said Fernin. "I'm reminded of when you got seasick on our Crocodile Creek trip!"
"I was not seasick," said Archie with dignity. "I had merely eaten something that disagreed with me."

@ Roller Coaster Boaster
Otto hesitated as he and Fernin approached the next ride. "I don't know, Fernin, it makes me feel a bit scared!"
"Would you say it was on a par with coming face-to-face with those wolves suddenly in the Labyrinth?" asked Fernin cheerfully. "Look, you don't have to do it if you don't want; you can watch me go round and then decide."

Your cart reaches the top of the slope and then there is a moment of calm when it pauses before it starts on its helter-skelter journey downwards -- until it hits the next climb back upwards!

“Why is that ride so fast, and why has it got all those loopy bits, Fernin?” asked Stella.
“To make it exciting!” said Fernin. “They make it accelerate by spinning the route in a circle!”

Remember the old-fashioned pick 'n' mix in the shop where you would go on a Saturday morning with your pocket money of silver moles tightly clutched in one paw? Then you would emerge with a paper bag of candy in one paw and a comic in the other -- those were the days!

@ Night-time Frisson
Mocha and Fernin watched the antics on the waterslide as they stood in the line of pets waiting to board the next ride. "Remember when Foxy leant too far over the bridge in Meadowlands that time, and fell in the pond with a huge splash?" asked Fernin. "My stomach muscles ached from laughing for days!"

Midnite gulped in dismay. “It’ll be quite safe, won’t it, Fernin?” she whispered.
”Yes, of course,” Fernin reassured her. “They’ve not lost a pet yet!”

Elsa and Fernin were choosing a drink to go with their food when there was suddenly an almighty SPLASH! from the waterslide and they were hit by flying droplets from the pool!

Fernin was listening enraptured to the music emerging from the nearby carousel. “My Mum used to sing this, Bentley!” he exclaimed excitedly. "Music allures, graceful and sweet, bidding us dance, airy and fleet—” he waltzed in a ragged circle and accidentally bumped into the carnival novelties stand. “Ooh! I’ll buy one of those while I'm here, Bentley!” he said.
