@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Happy Feet and Petunia are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

@ Silhouette of Flowers at Sunset
Happy Feet and Shadow shook paws, then looked around in awe, wishing they hadn’t already eaten their lunch! This was the most perfect place for a picnic!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

@ Sunset Across the Field
“What have you got in your tote bag, Deb Bee?” asked Happy Feet. “It looks very full!”
“I’ve come prepared for anything the weather can throw at us, Happy Feet,” responded Deb Bee. “There’s deck shoes, snowshoes, tennis shoes, flip-flops, flippers, walking boots, Wellington boots—you name them, I’ve got them!”

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

Darkling nearly stumbled over Happy Feet, who was lying full length on the grass. “I was wishing I’d brought my watercolours,” said Happy Feet. “This just cries out to be painted!”

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
paws greeted Happy Feet cheerily, recommending she expended some silver moles on the fresh harvest food before them.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

"Bella, was that last one we looked at a thorn bush with roses? Or a rose bush with thorns?" asked Happy Feet.

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

“Oh hello, Happy Feet!” cried Flicka. “Didn’t we bump into each other at Crocodile Creek a while ago?”

As you continue through the field, you choose to leave the daintier purple flowers alone, simply enjoying their fragrance and their beauty in the evening sun.

@ White Rose and Pink Daisy
"How on earth do you identify what this is from the thousands of things it could be?" asked queenielove.
"Well," said Happy Feet, "you go through a checklist. Like what sort of leaves does it have, how are they arranged on the stem, do they have stalks, what's its habitat; that kind of thing. I'll lend you a book when we get home."

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
Craven and Happy Feet counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Craven.

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

Happy Feet was very happy to meet Aashi here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, Pony Pony" said Happy Feet. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Happy Feet! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

@ Running River After the Waterfall
Happy Feet and Lucky pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

“I’m going to try growing these at home!” announced Happy Feet, after she and HOot had tucked into some yummy organic harvest food!

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
Mr. Dylan was hailed by Happy Feet, who had also just arrived on the scene. “What a great view, Mr. Dylan!” said Happy Feet. “I could stay here for hours!”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
Inspired by the sunny day, Sour Puss said, “Wouldn't it be fun to work on the harvest?”
Happy Feet took a more pragmatic view. “You’d have to be up before dawn every day and work for 12 hours practically non-stop!”
Sour Puss hastily revised his romantic harvest vision.

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

@ Red and Yellow Flower

@ Almost there!
“What an amazing view!” exclaimed Happy Feet after shaking paws with Tassie, who agreed with her. Happy Feet was excited to meet up again with Tassie. They both took a moment to admire the amazing scene around them.

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Happy Feet had to travel on alone, as Midnight declared he had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

@ Fading Sun Rays
While Happy Feet paused to enjoy the view, coco started scrabbling in her rucksack for her portable, folding camping chair. “What are you doing with that, coco?” asked Happy Feet. “We’ll need to get going in a minute or we’ll be left behind!”

On your left is another tree line through which you see some of the last rays of the sun poking through the fall leaves. This makes you feel even more relaxed!

@ Green Leafed Plant
Meowchi bent down to sniff the flower in front of her but recoiled hastily. “What’s up, Meowchi?” asked Happy Feet.
“There’s a huge bumblebee on it!” said Meowchi.

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

“Great to meet you again, Reynard!” said Happy Feet. “Come and have some of this farm-grown organic food—it’s absolutely yummy!”

Happy Feet and Lady Jane shook paws before sitting down to enjoy an autumnal harvest snack. “There’s nothing like farm-fresh food, is there, Happy Feet?” said Lady Jane.

“I’m going to have to spend a lot of time when we get back looking up what all these flowers are!” said Happy Feet to Billy goat bruff.

Happy Feet is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Sir Barkey Barksalot comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Sir Barkey Barksalot. Happy Feet looks down and sees something valuable. Sir Barkey Barksalot generously lets Happy Feet keep it!
