The sky is not opening up, but it sure seems that way, with the brilliant flashes of light and the loud crack as the air expands. Get indoors as fast as you can, and keep your pets safe as not many will enjoy the dramatic storm taking place outside.

Purple Flower Power Egg
My pets are in awe of these beautiful eggs—they would love to try to paint their own one year. Easter and spring are times of joy as the earth awakens, plants are pushing forth from the soil, and the days are becoming warmer. Many baby animals are born in the spring, and life is burgeoning. May these eggs bring you joy and be a reminder of the earth renewing itself.

Fluffy Clouds
Looking like a whipped-up marshmallow spread in the sky. I propose a day of relaxing, we will find a field and lay down on some grass and look up at the clouds and play a game about what they look like to each of us.

@ Rainbow Over The Grey Sea
"Did you read what it said under that exhibit earlier, Rosie?" asked Red. "It stated that early windmills' sails turned anti-clockwise but later makers shifted mainly to clockwise."
"Wow, Red! It's one of those things I'd never have thought about!"

A spectacular rainbow just touching the land. Rainbows and hummingbirds (which are like tiny flying rainbows) bring smiles to all who view them. The science behind what makes a rainbow is interesting but it will never be as much fun as the stories you can dream up to explain that bow of colours in the sky.

@ Balloons In The Sky
“I could stay here in front of this image forever, Red,” said Mousey. “This is an amazing place!”
“Well, you never know what lies ahead, Mousey. I wouldn't be surprised if the next exhibit is even better!” said Red.

Some like balloons a lot—some, however, do not. Balloons can be colourful, or have fun saying on them—if you choose to enjoy balloons, please dispose of them safely after, so they don’t pollute the water and land and cause distress for our animal friends.

@ Hide And Seek Moon
Ray Bradbury wrote a book called The Fireman, but the editors found the name boring. They called a local fire station to ask at what temperature book paper would burn at. The firemen put Bradbury on hold, burnt a book, and reported that the temperature it burnt at was 451° Fahrenheit. The rest, as they say, is history.

@ The Milky Way
"There's a fun project in our brochure on how to make a weather vane from an ice cream container lid, scissors, a marker pen, a skewer, a straw and a pin," remarked Red.
"Cool!" responded Firefly. "We could make a start when we get back to our hotel tonight."

The Milky Way Galaxy, with spiral arms outstretched, moves through the cosmos devouring other galaxies—and far into the future, the Milky Way Galaxy will itself be devoured. From our viewpoint on Earth, it appears as a milky band—millions of stars lighting up the deep dark of space.

The doldrums is a wind-free area around the equator where sailing ships used to get stuck for weeks. Hence the phrase ‘in the doldrums’.

"Oh, Miss Flicka, I thought that was to do with sailing?"
Miss Flicka consulted the tour guide. " 'A knot is a unit of speed equivalent to one nautical mile per hour, used especially of ships, aircraft, or winds.' There you go."

A gale is officially defined as a wind of between 32 and 63 miles per hour. A wind blowing from 4 to 31mph is a breeze.

“If there's time at the end of the day when we get back to our accommodation, I might do some initial sketches for a watercolour painting from the postcard I bought in the gift shop," Luckyice said, offering Red a toffee from the bag and then unwrapping one for himself.
“That sounds like a good plan, Luckyice!" said Red. "Very relaxing, and your painting will be a great souvenir of our trip through the Elements!"
Sunglasses Everyone
The sun is so bright today that you really need to wear sunglasses if you hope to avoid a headache and eye strain. If there is not enough light, you cannot see—too much light, and you cannot see. The perfect amount of sun, just like the perfect porridge, is what we want.

@ A Mystical Place
The strongest winds in the solar system are on Saturn where they reach speeds of over 1,100mph.
A Mystical Place
A small craft sets off on an adventure; the pets are excited and wonder what they will see. Passing through a bank of clouds, the sea and sky change. This is not any place the pets have ever seen before. Were they magically transported to a new planet. Is this a dream, are they all still at home tucked up in bed.
They gaze in wonder at the stars that shine brighter and closer than any stars they are used to; the water is as still as a sheet of glass, the pets want to reach down and grab a star reflection, so solid do they appear.

It is easy to see how one could lose their way when out at sea when the sky and sea are the same colour and there are no other guiding landmarks. Beautiful and peaceful to look upon from a safe and sure place.

When the sky is filled with clouds and depending on the time of day you can get the most spectacular colour displays, from light pastels to vibrant hues. Ever-changing and ever-fascinating, always look up or you may miss a most marvellous show.

"I think there'll be quite a few tired paws, wings and flippers when we get back to the tour bus," said Ted, after he and Red had spent some time exploring another wing of the art gallery to its end.
"Is there a gift shop after this?" enquired Red. "The thought of that generally keeps me going!"

"The Great Fire of London in 1666 gave rise to many changes, you know, Red," remarked Marvin. "Many streets were widened across London. New building regulations meant that instead of wood, brick had to be used for all houses."

"Depending on their strength, winds can be known as a breeze, gale, storm or hurricane. Wind is caused by differences in air pressure. Air rushes from high pressure areas to lower ones," remarked Red.

"That's easy: hydrogen and oxygen!"
"Correct, Red! Two parts of hydrogen to one part oxygen, making the element name H2O."

Have you ever seen such a substantial cloud, a cloud with so much personality it almost seems as if it could talk to you? What would it say if it began to speak? Would it tell you where it formed, what it had seen as it travelled across the great blue sky, would it be able to say where it was headed and what it would do when it arrived?

"Oh, Freyja! It says in our tour guide that no one knows who invented the fire hydrant, because its patent was destroyed in a fire in Washington in 1836!" declared Red.
"That is ironic for sure!" responded Freyja.

Oh, what fun! We are all going on a balloon ride—high in the air. The pets have packed their favourite snacks and brought their scarves—in case the air is cool. They are chattering and chirping about what they might see once the balloon is in the air.

"Did you know you can start a fire with ice, Red?" asked ✯ƒaεяy∂aε✯☽☆☾✯.
"How on earth do you do that?" queried Red.
"Well, you need a disc of clear ice shaped into a lens, then use it as you would a magnifying glass to shine the sun's rays onto flammable material, such as dry grass."

@ A Very Grey Day
"Wind speed is measured with a device called an anemometer. There's a project here for making an anemometer, Red. We could try it out tonight when we get back to the accommodation."
"Goodness, chendler! Isn't it terribly technical and scientific to do that?" queried Red.
chendler studied the diagram helpfully provided in the brochure. "Nah. It seems to be made of empty yoghurt cartons and stuff. We'll give it a go!"
A Very Grey Day
There are blustery days and snowy days, but I think this type of day would make a particular little donkey happy. Not everyone will love a grey day—on the bright side—when the sun does break through, it is such a delight that the dim greyness was worth it.

"It says in our tour guide that 96.5% of water on Earth is in our oceans, covering 71% of the surface of our planet," remarked Red.
"That's amazing, Red!" responded Zazzy.

I wonder how many rainbows are in the sky—all over the world—at any given moment. Rainbows seem to bring a lot of happiness even if there is not a pot of gold at the end—maybe the real treasure is the joy they bring.

As Red's experience of "Sky" comes to an end, she receives a wonderful gift!
Flowering Branch, Violet
Walking down the street, marvelling at the flowers awakening to the spring warmth. The new buds on trees bloom into a dazzling array of blossoms delighting the senses and gladening the heart. These wonderful violet blooms adorning delicate branches are a welcome addition to the garden.

Bolts of energy, radiating light—flung downward from unseen hands—pierce the land.
