Ant-tonia and Firefly are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Fall Fairground South
Roll up! Roll up! After sunset the fairground is transformed into a glittering arena of swirling lights, with a backdrop of squawks, yelps and howls from pets clinging on for dear life to the scary rollercoaster and whirling round on the fluorescently lit big wheel! The best view is of course from the top, so c'mon, everypet, and have the experience of your life! For pets preferring a gentler ride, hold on tightly to the reins while our carousel horses look after you on a circular journey under a blue starry canopy. Then it's time to indulge in candy, popcorn, gingerbread and pumpkin pie made from the fall harvest! Hopefully everypet will have enough silver moles left to buy a magnificent helium balloon to take home ...

"You get a marvellous view from the top of this ride, don't you, Ant-tonia?" said Peanuts idly. "Look, isn't that the windmill in the purple rea- —AARGGHH! AAARRGGGHHHH! OH-H-H-H! MAAAAAKE I-I-I-T STO-O-O-O-O-O-OP! AAARRGGGHHHH! STOP L-L-LAUGHING, YOU H-H-HORRIBLE CREATURE!"

From the queue, Lily nervously eyed the fairground ride whirling beside herself and Ant-tonia. “What if the cable breaks?” she asked. “Oh, that won’t be a problem!” said Ant-tonia airily. “They can always get another one!”

Sheba and Ant-tonia watched the antics on the waterslide as they stood in the line of pets waiting to board the next ride. "Remember when Foxy leant too far over the bridge in Meadowlands that time, and fell in the pond with a huge splash?" asked Ant-tonia. "My stomach muscles ached from laughing for days!"

Remember the old-fashioned pick 'n' mix in the shop where you would go on a Saturday morning with your pocket money of silver moles tightly clutched in one paw? Then you would emerge with a paper bag of candy in one paw and a comic in the other -- those were the days!

@ Night-time Frisson
The ride had started off fairly gently, but was now gathering speed at a great rate! Little Fang and Ant-tonia had met just as it was starting and had managed to shake paws and say “Hello” before the ride deprived them both of breath!

Supahfly, just about to board the next ride, paused and looked around the fairground. "I was just wondering if they had one of those nice, gentle rides where you sit in, you know, giant teacups," he said wistfully. Ant-tonia grinned. "C'mon, Supahfly, this ride should be on your bucket list! Not that you're going to kick the bucket for many years yet!"

Ferris wheels are named after George W. Ferris, a US engineer from Pittsburgh, who built the first one for the World Expo in Chicago in 1893. Expo visitors found unexpected excitement and novelty. Not only the Ferris wheel but the amazing new wonder that ran it—electricity—were presented for the first time in America.
