Sue told Velma Texas was a great place for a party. She began at Pecos. The rodeo started right here in 1883 when brave hoomans wanted to test their fortitude. Barrel racing! Calf roping! Junior rodeo for wee hoomans! Velma donned some spurs and joined the fun!

Velma visited the old capital building, still just the way it was built. Old narrow stairs, uneven floors, and a lot of . If there are any! What a "spectral" party they could have here!

The street markets were fun, filled with vibrant colors and delicious smells. Velma wished Sue were here to share the experience! This certainly was a day for fun and mayhem! Grabbing a purple guitar, an amazing riff drifted out of Velma's paws. Then other pets joined in with drums. Soon they were having a party!

Searching for a Texas-sized shindig, Velma took the elevator to the top of the 750 foot tower, to see the state from a 's eye view! Velma had never been so high before. She bravely climbed up the last 5 flights of stairs with shaking knees!

Velma decided a day at the beach would be nice! Turning up the boom box, watching the swoop in for table scraps, she soon found herself surrounded by lively chatter about the merits of sand sculpting!

Next day Velma walked through Herman Park, Houston, seeking a big ol' Texan BBQ where she could eat pulled pork and tacos. A crazy night of dancing followed! Velma realised Texas was a lot greener than she had imagined!

Stopping at the Memorial Auditorium built in 1927, Velma heard all about famous hoomans (Autry, Elvis, and more). She danced and sang when the visitors started their own party with the strum of a guitar!

Velma was not sure whether these fungi were safe to eat. A local Texan advised her, 'Shrooms should never be eaten on a whim! Texas has many varieties. We should grill them and smother a prime cut of beef with them!'

All this partying has worked up Velma's appetite! She was excited to sit down and enjoy one of the dishes Texas is famous for; beef! Cutting into the Delmonico, and savoring the deliciousness of the cut, Velma pounded the table, shouting "Compliments to the chef!"

Velma had seen so many horseshoes. "I will take some home for crafting and souvenirs," she said. "I want a horse ranch camp out before I leave! Oh, and I'm gonna write a postcard to Sue, telling her all about my trip and thanking her for this awesome belt buckle!"
