Has this monkey learned to read? Or has someone written out a sign for him? The little ducklings are not interested, because their momma is their whole world. STAMPE takes a drink from the river and goes on his way.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 2/25

A strange pet comes down to the river. He wants someone to buy his new designer handbags. “Can I have one for my momma? I am so proud of my momma!” says the Baby Boy Duck.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 3/25

The strange pet, Bob, wants Golden Moles. Baby Boy Duck does not know what they are! Bob goes to find a paying customer. Then Baby Boy Duck finds his family have all swum away. “Momma told me not to talk to strangers,” he sadly quacks. “Is this why? Now I must be brave.”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 4/25

“I have been a bad little duckling and lost my momma,” says Baby Boy Duck. “I did not deserve my momma. Perhaps I can find a new one?” The Cinnamon Queen Hen has come to the river for a drink, but she has chicks of her own, and shoos him away.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 5/25

Baby Boy Duck paddles down the river. Perhaps the Phenomenal Pheasant will be his momma? But the pheasant just falls over in surprise. He is a very empty-headed bird and cannot find anything to say. “I do not know my daddy,” says Baby Boy Duck. “I wish he could help me.”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 6/25

Baby Boy Duck paddles sadly down a stream that opens off the river. Here is a farm! He was born on a farm, only last week. He sees a white chicken, but it is even sillier than the pheasant. “My momma was smart,” says Baby Boy Duck. “She had all her ducklings in a row.”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 7/25

Baby Boy Duck is lost. He sees a very proud, well-dressed chicken and thinks she may be smart enough to be a momma. “Oh, I am too smart to be a mother,” she says. “You should look for my sister Flora. She is dull and homely enough to be a mother.”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 8/25

Baby Boy Duck does not know how someone can be too smart to be a momma. Mommas must keep their ducklings in a row. As he sadly waddles down the path with tears in his eyes, he finds a small round chick. “Do you have a momma?” he asks. But all the chick will say is “momma”.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 9/25

Baby Boy Duck waddles off, and the small round chick follows him. “Now I must be brave for two,” says Baby Boy Duck. He hears a happy song and follows it to Deedee. “Where is Flora?” asks Baby Boy Duck. ”This way!” chirps Deedee. She flies ahead of the chicks to show them the way.

Deedee leaves the little ones with Flora. “Will you be our momma?” asks Baby Boy Duck. “I did not deserve mine.” Flora thinks. “I will help find your mother. I wanted chicks, but did not deserve them.” “That’s silly!” says Baby Boy Duck. “Then you deserve your mother,” said Flora.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 11/25

“I will take you both home,” said Flora. “Then we can look for your mothers. Oh dear, we must not follow that monkey,” she says, not telling the chicks what a fowler is. “We will go by a safer way.” Flora could fly home if she was alone, but she must walk with the chicks.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 12/25

Flora takes the chicks to town. More monkeys are hanging a sign at the Welfare Stores. “Duckweed latte for you; creamy sweet corn for your friend,” she says. “Does he have a name? Let us call him Reuben.” Reuben still did not say anything, but he looked happier.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 13/25

“We are past the worst danger, the Fowlers, but now I need to be careful,” said Flora. “I do not know the way. Oh look – Weasel Forest. We must avoid weasels. Someone should teach those monkeys to spell!” So she led Reuben and Baby Boy Duck away from the forest.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 14/25

Flora feared the bear with his axe, but “Wales Forester” showed his axe was for trees. “Can you show us the way home?” she asks. “We’re afraid the monkeys will lead us astray.” “Find my brother,” said the bear. “He sails the Four Seas. He knows all kinds of places. And trust the monkeys”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 15/25

“Shelter at any building except Doubting Castle,” the bear had told Flora. “I’m tired,” said Baby Boy Duck. Reuben cheeped miserably. “If I trust the bear then I must trust the monkeys as well,” said Flora, seeing this was not Doubting Castle but Fearless Tower.

The next day they carried on down the path and came to the Rosewater Elves. “There seem to be two kinds,” said Flora. “And those monkeys need spelling lessons!” But the Elves were not interested in them.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 17/25

The Elves were arguing in their whispery voices. Flora looked at the monkeys; they had changed the sign. “I wonder what that sign would say if the monkeys got it right?” she asked. But as she turned, she saw a welcome sight. “There is the sea!” she said.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 18/25

“You met my brother Wales?” asked the bear. “Yes, he said you sail the Four Seas,” said Flora. “I have a trawler,” he replied. Flora clucked with annoyance. “Those monkeys are playing tricks on us." The bear disagreed. “Head for the swamp and trust the monkeys," he said.

Baby Boy Duck and Reuben feared the alligator. “He can’t be our foe,” mused Flora. ”We aren’t wrestlers.” Baby Boy Duck and Reuben calmed down and listened to the alligator as he told them really terrible ‘knock, knock’ jokes.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 20/25

“I’m glad you can’t read that sign,” said Flora. She turned away from the monkeys in disgust, and then she saw the path to her home!

STAMPE is questing! Episode 21/25

“What does that sign say?” asked Baby Boy Duck. “It says Flora’s Sweeter,” said Flora, who felt embarrassed. “It’s my home. I think the monkeys are apologizing.”

STAMPE is questing! Episode 22/25

“Are you going to have chicks?” asked Baby Boy Duck. “I make clay eggs and paint them,” said Flora. “I wanted chicks …”. She changed the subject. “I am taking these eggs to the fair.” “I miss my family ... can I hatch one?” asked Baby Boy Duck. Reuben just cheeped happily.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 23/25

How could Flora find the little ones’ mothers? Could they be at the fair? Going would entertain Baby Boy Duck and Reuben. When they arrived, she saw the sign. All she could say was “Oh … oh. Of course. Oh ….” The little ones thought she was funny.

STAMPE is questing! Episode 24/25

The fair was all about flowers, not eggs. Flora liked bluebells, so she visited a stall where a bear was displaying them. “You must be the family my brother Wales told me of,” he said. ”All the eggs are at the top of the hill."

STAMPE was at the hill top. “Momma!” cried Baby Boy Duck. “See! My son!” honked Mother Goose, as she ran to Reuben. Flora stood and stared at the shepherd. “I looked for you for years,” she said. He smiled. “When you chose to be a shepherd yourself, you were sure to find me.”
