@ Tunnel of Maple Trees
Happy and Esmerelda are excited to find out what is in store for them in the Autumn Experience! As they enter, they each receive a free map! It reads:
Autumn in Amber
Autumn has well been described by Keats as the "Season of mists and mellow fruitfulness" and pets will here enjoy a ramble through woods with tumbling golden and orange leaves. They can gather hazelnuts, horse chestnuts and fruits, and perhaps forage for mushrooms and dill. Then there are vast fields of wild flowers to explore, and an opportunity to admire the sunset while resting by a rustic barn. Watch your paws or claws crossing the river on the stepping stones—but perhaps splashing in the swirling water is part of the fun!

As you near this autumn realm and hear the thunder of the falls close by, you get to walk through a vividly colorful tunnel of maple leaves with the light of the evening sun at the tunnel's end to attract you further.

Happy had to travel on alone, as Isabella declared she had found paradise, and had no intention of moving on!

As you step out of the tunnel of fall-colored leaves, you are greeted with even more beauty to behold as you see flowers silhouetted by the setting sun. Now you know that the day's journey is almost done!

On her way round The Autumn Experience, pengo bumped into Happy. They both paused to drink in the beautiful scene before them before going on to the next location.

As you look further past where you are now standing, you see a vast farm field to cross with welcoming trees and hillsides awaiting.

You pause for a moment to make sure that the pictures you've been taking of your breath-taking journey today have been capturing what your eyes have been seeing. Even though there is so much beauty for just two eyes to take in, you are pleased with your photos thus far, especially of the light at the end of the tunnel of maple trees!

@ Handful of Horse Chestnuts
“Hey, Tester 3!” called out Happy. “Come and have some of this—it’s delicious!”
Tester 3 was glad to rest and enjoy the food Happy shared with her.

Not only were you enveloped with maple trees, but you also saw some chestnut trees mixed within, and so you grabbed a handful of chestnuts as a souvenir!

“I’m going to ask if I can take a cutting of this,” Zoot said to Happy. “This would look just fine in a half barrel in my front garden!”

As you left the woods, with another tree line to your left, you noticed some large blooms of wildflowers along the edge of the trees, and so you picked a few to spruce up your room when you settle in later in the evening.

Happy and Frost pooled their silver moles, hoping to buy a small souvenir or two to remind them of this beautiful place!

Esmerelda and Happy shook paws and then they both admired the magnificent floral display beside them.

With all of the flowers you are admiring, you almost forgot the ones you picked up in the autumn realm of green that morning. You check to be sure they are still fresh - and they are! - and remember that you have a note to fill out for tonight's host.

@ Wild White Mushrooms
“This reminds me of Meadowlands,” observed Happy, musing as she and Winnie ~ Gentle Friend took a moment to admire the produce beside them. “Such a lovely, peaceful scene.”

Continuing on the path, you notice along the tree line something white. Not sure if you were seeing flowers, you approach and find that they are wild mushrooms, the edible kind, and so you grab a few to add to a possible stew later in the evening!

"Wasn’t it worth coming all this way, Happy," said Mousey, "for this experience alone?" Happy, admiring the scene they were now in, heartily agreed!

"I wish I knew more about horticulture, MELODEE" said Happy. "Sometimes I can't tell if something's a plant or a weed!"
"Oh, there's a sure-fire way of telling the difference, Happy! Pull on it—if it comes out of the ground easily, it's a really valuable plant.”

“Time to move on and shake the next paw!” observed Happy. lily agreed, but said she was going to stay here awhile and collect pine cones.

As you look to your left, with the waterfall thundering to your right, you see how swiftly the river runs past you as you ensure you have enough stepping stones to get across. One wrong step and you may be staying somewhere further south than you planned!

Punky and Happy counted out their silver moles and bought some of the harvest food. “That one wins first prize for me!” declared Punky.

As you settle in on your second rock in your river crossing, you remember that your host from last night in the autumn realm of green gave you fresh oranges plucked right off of a tree in their own backyard! Time to get refreshed!

@ Fallen Leaves Floating By
Happy and Leena shook paws, said “How do you do?” and posed for a souvenir photo. “Why am I always on the left?” grumbled Happy. “Let’s change sides.”
“No,” said Leena. “This is my best side.”

As you make your way to the next rock, you noticed flower blooms and leaves floating by. The leaves may have fallen from trees and were blown into the water, perhaps before the waterfall. You stretch out your paw and snag a twig of orange-colored leaves to stick out of your backpack!

@ Plucked Flowers Floating By Too!

After you cross to your next rock, with the shore almost within reach, you decide to add to your collection of souvenirs by grabbing some of the plucked blooms floating by and wrapping them in paper for safe keeping. These were put in the water by young pets in the autumn realm of green, hoping they would float and float for a long distance.

@ Plenty of Nuts
“I hope we can buy more of this at our local farmer's market,” observed Happy, as she and Bill tucked into a delicious food sample!

As you jump and thump from rock to rock, you check your supply of hazelnuts after noticing you hadn't closed your container as well as you thought! Whew! Most are still there!

“These make a fine display, don’t they, Happy?” said VV, when she and Happy had shaken paws.

As you land on the last rock, you notice a huge bloom coming your way on the water. It bumps into the rock, making it an easy grab with your paw!

Happy was very happy to meet Flare here! They both swapped tales of their experiences of their travels so far!

As you step onto the shore, you continue to enjoy the sunset and notice the host home close by! What a welcome sight after a long, but joyful day of hiking into a new realm!

Happy and Abby agreed that the variety of scenery on their Autumn Experience trip was the best ever! They exchanged opinions on which their favourite scene had been so far, and which was the most delicious harvest food they had eaten in their travels!

With the waterfall and river now roaring on your right, the gentleness of the sunset upon a meadow of yellow flowers, which appear to be even more yellow from the sun's rays, calm your soul as you near your goal!

As you pass this patch of growth, you pluck a few sprigs in hopes of decorating up the doorway or the table of the home where you'll lay your head down soon.

@ Ginger and Lemons
Happy was excited by seeing all the different harvest produce. “I’m going to apply for an allotment and start growing my own food!” he announced to Likey, when they met and shook paws.

Lyra and Happy, after shaking paws, admired the crop of harvest produce in front of them. “I didn’t know it looked like that just after harvest,” said Happy. “I’ve only seen it in the shops!”

Happy is enjoying the Autumn Experience when Beatrice comes along. "Look! A special prize!" says Beatrice. Happy looks down and sees something valuable. Beatrice generously lets Happy keep it!
