And the petting, the constant petting!!! Finally, in a last ditch attempt to escape, he built his very own fortress of solitude and climbed aboard.

Fruit Machine

Las Vegas is very confusing. Frobie and Wasky stopped at a fast food joint to grab a bite and they went over to what they thought was a drink machine to make their choices. A little miffed that in Vegas it appeared that drinks cost extra, they nevertheless proceeded to deposit their coins and pull the lever so they could see their choices. Suddenly the machine went crazy, all flashing lights and sirens whooping. Wasky figured they had broken the thing, and he grabbed his meal and ran for the exit. Frobie, the more mature of the two, calmly waited for the noised to stop and the machine to helpfully dispense a small strip of paper which he dutifully took to the cashier, expecting to be told the damages he would be responsible for. Instead, he was handed a balloon, a replacement meal for the one he had dropped in his distress, and a giftcard for free meals for a year which was what he had won from the fruit machine he had spun by mistake. :-)

Frank "n" Cents

A reporter came by to interview Frobie over the windfall he had won last week while passing through Vegas. The reporter was very polite when asking to see this pile of FrankNCents, so he was surprised to be met with Frobie's apologetic shrug. "They're all gone," he explained, "every last little cent." "I just don't see the point in hoarding and collecting those shiny round discs. There's an awful lot of fuss over them and they just take up so much room. So I used them to help improve the community." The stunned reporter looked around him now at an area that until quite recently had been nothing but a barren hillside. He could remember nothing here but piles of rubble and a dangerous winding path that was often where the slower of PnF Falls received their fair share of nasty injuries while trying to cross. Now a gentle lake lapped beside the path. The slowest of creatures needn't fear because a gently sloping overpass had been placed above the thoroughfare. Trees had been replanted and flowers and other decorations had been carefully arranged for the enjoyment of the locals. There was not a single bronze colored coin in sight. The reporter was stunned. Frobie just looked around at all his friends enjoying the beauty of the day and said, "what good would those old coins do me tucked away in the bottom of a treasure chest or under my mattress?" He held out a flipper as one of his butterfly neighbors alighted on his shoulder. She smelled slightly of the fruity drink she had been delicately sipping from moments before. Frobie was glad he had spent the extra FranNCents on the magic spell to constantly regenerate the drinks. Wasky, his beaver sidekick of a friend, did occasionally come up with brilliant ideas. Usually insane, but occasionally, one time in a thousand, his ideas were the stuff of legend. Drawn back to the present, Frobie ushered the reporter over towards the lemonade stand where Wasky was just about to partake in a frozen delight. He would introduce the reporter to his sidekick and skillfully make his exit while the beaver chattered on. Frobie grinned evilly. Wasky's constant stream of conversation was as effective as any dam.

The Sabre-Tooth Penguins Just Grow on Me

Wasky continued his quest to gather a sabre-toothed minion army for his best friend and comrade in shenanigans, Frobie. Never letting a little thing like reality stop him from achieving his goals, Wasky decided that the best way to get said army would be to grow them from the ground up. *grin* He will carefully pick each one at the height of freshness and flash freeze it until the whole army is ready. He figures Frobie will have a lovely birthday present coming up.

The Slate Invitational Pet Rock Roll-a-Thon

Wasky couldn't understand why he and his pet rock were disqualified from the Pet Rock Roll-a-Thon. While the judges may have thrown them out of the OFFICIAL event, Frobie and Pandear worked together to give Wasky and Slate their very own event. And they raised a lot of golden moles for charity too because Slate can really eat up those inches!

Wasky's new neighbor questions his choice of dam design. Wasky thinks those Ikea instructions were a bit complicated for a dam, but his perseverance paid off. Frobie doesn't have the heart to burst his bubble, besides, at least they will have someplace to sit in comfort while they enjoy the lazy summer days.

Maggie gazes in awe and points eagerly to the glorious display in the sky. Persephone had been practicing very hard to master the wind spell to the point of shaping the clouds. "Just wait till Whyborne sees what I can do now," she thinks smugly. Though it really wasn't her brother that she wished to be impressed by her newest skill. Mostly.
