Behold a rare and precious yellow sillimanite crystal cluster, of the kind used by the ancients for intaglio work, found in PnF’s first ever quest! For but a brief time, sillimanite crystals were scattered along the path to Trilliant Island by the Yellow Cave Guardian, and happy were the Pets that journeyed forth and found a cache of these rare and precious gems!

Recent visitors from far away planets in Outerspace have brought with them many gifts, included, are wondrous gems that glow with inner light and float above the ground. PnF Petland has many fine gems found locally, but never have the resident pets seen gems quite like these.

The Floating Crystal gems are not buried deep in dark caves; they are found at the center of crystal plants. The crystal plants are rare and can be found hidden amongst flowers, in fields, and in flower gardens. When the plant has matured, a gem appears in the center of the crystal flower. The gem absorbs the light from the sun—that shines above the planet—and once the gem is fully grown, it rises up from the flower and hovers above it. Our Outerpsace visitors use these gems to give a soft light in their homes and power household devices. The gems never lose their power, making them excellent for the environment. It must be a beautiful sight to see a soft glow emitting from a patch of flowers.

Industrious moles gather from the depths of PnF’s most amazing mines (otherwise known as mountains and molehills!) the latest in sparkle and shine. Skilled gemologists transform the natural beauty of unpolished gems into radiant beacons, to bedeck the fur, horns, claws, scales and manes of the most fashion conscious pets!

Though vibrant and elegant in nature, the wealth I give is not material. The riches you can receive from my presence will cleanse your soul and broaden your mind.

Long ago when PnF was little more than wild woods, pets began to appear, following stories and promises of ‘gold in the hills’. They came by the thousands, seeking their fortunes, putting down roots, discovering more than they ever dreamed, prospering. Some miners chased the golden stones long after they had been emptied from their hiding places. These pets, they say, spent their lives alone in the highest hills, chasing this glowing yellow-gold gem, seeking their longed-for fortune, until they existed only as stories, sometimes funny, sad, inspiring, and more, passed down through the centuries. And that is how this stone became known as the Miner’s Folly.

Long ago a young mink was forced to say fare thee well to her true love. As he prepared to leave her, sailing away into the night to make his fortune, their fortune, he gave to her a glowing stone of perfect milky white, suspended from a shining chain.

“Wear this small token, my love, a piece of the moon I’ve captured just for you. Know that as these long days stretch into longer nights, we are always looking up into the same eternal light. We will always be together.”

The young mink waited for her love with hope in her heart, wearing the Celestine gem around her neck each day and gazing upon the moon each night, counting the days until their reunion. But, as sometimes happens, the young sea-faring pet did not return, lost to the sea and the ages. His love never married.

Instead it was said, before and long after her time in PnF Land, one could see her on the highest hill, still gazing up to the moon, the Celestine gem aglow upon her chest, lit with the light of eternal love and they whisper still that should you find a Celestine gem, your love will never falter.

Everyone in PnF knows of our beloved Scared Black Cat. Unlike his rather sarcastic brother, Mean Black Cat, Scared Black Cat is afraid of absolutely everything! It came to be when he was young that a few naughty pets liked to tease him with the ‘Got your nose!’ game.

For the longest time, poor Scared Black Cat was certain they had truly gotten his little black, glossy nose and stolen it away! He was truly a sight to see yowling and rolling around, holding his noseless nose until he realized it had never been gone. Those naughty, but never truly bad, pets would laugh at the “scaredy cat.”

This continued on for quite some time until one day, a particularly naughty pet ‘stole’ Scared Black Cat’s nose and realized with horror that in his hand he held something cold and black. That clever cat had painted a smooth, round, rock, blackest black! Never again could they tease him and get away with it!

This is how when long years later a glossy black stone was first found in the great tarry swamps of Troll Land, that one of those naughty pets, who had since grown up to be a famous archaeologist, had the pleasure, with a twinkle in his eye, of naming the new gem Scaredy Cat’s Nose.

Tread carefully through lavender fields, for if your sight is keen enough you may find this violet treasure hidden among the roots. Don't gaze for long into the depths of this budding crystal unless you desire to gaze into the reflection of your own soul.

Often found growing along the cliffsides of volcanoes, this gem calls to the adventurer in every pet. Brave the heat of the caverns within the volcano and find the largest Flame's Desire to become the envy of all other pets. Yet be wary, for this gem has burned others who have tried to claim it as their own.

Found lurking in murky marshes and baffling bogs, the Mint Release is known for reinvigorating the tired traveller through it's unique scent. More powerful than the strongest smelling salts, this intriguing gem can banish the unpleasant odors typically associated with the environment it is found within.
