The most confusing thing about me is all the strange pronunciations of my species. Since I am found in Mexico, it's Ash-A-Lot as the Incans named me!

I am sure you are familiar with penguins. But I imagine you have never seen a penguin like me before.
I am a mineral penguin, made from a variety of pretty minerals that give my body a colourful mirrored effect. I am dazzling to see in the sun. Maybe you should wear your sunglasses, and then we can tour some mines.

There is an old bear—who may look familiar to you and your pets. He loves honey, and he loves lazy walks with friends, but he also enjoys watching sports. When PnF land holds sports events, this old bear likes to cheer on his favourites, which is every pet, and he enjoys having a close-up view.
Borrowing a balloon from friends, this old bear can be seen sailing over the sporting event, looking down at whatever sport is ongoing and cheering loudly. One of the reasons this bear loves honey is it can soothe a sore throat from all that cheering.

I think today is going to be a good day! I have a whole list of things I want to do today... First a stop by the neighbour's bird feeder, then the birdbath in the park. Then for lunch maybe eat half of half a dozen apples and dig up some flower bulbs. For laughs I'll sneak into my cousin's room and tangle up their ear bud wires... And after dinner maybe go torment the llamas the next town over.

Good morning. I am papa bear. Mama bear and baby bear make up the rest of my family. We have lived in this house for a long time. We went through a bit of bother a year ago. There was a child who would come in—first thing in the morning, when we had gone out for a walk—eat our porridge, sit in our chairs, and sleep in our beds. We, as a bear family, found that quite rude.
One morning, I decided to teach this child how to make their own porridge. The child was very happy to learn how to cook, and now that child and baby bear are great friends.
I smell something delicious; mama bear may be cooking something tasty shall we go see?

The male Painted Duck has lovely distinct colours, with a teal head cap and white feather crescents accentuating the eye area. Prized for its beauty, the Painted Duck symbolizes fidelity, affection, and many offspring, in Korea. The Painted Duck is thought to mate for life, unlike other duck species.

The Painted Duck is shy and will shelter under trees such as the willow tree. Food for the Painted Duck changes with the seasons; in fall and winter, acorns and grains; in spring and summer, worms, fish, mollusks, and aquatic plants.

It's my job to fly the forests and plains of PnF during the dry seasons - to keep watch for the signs and conditions most pets don't consider. When the conditions are right and the fires come, I shift into action.

All that java has made this bunny ready to race! Not a tortoise to be found anywhere, either! I guess I'll just hop around the park, you shout "GO!" And when I cross the finish line first, we can get another cup o' joe, right? No? Too much caffeine? Well, ok, but right now, this bunny's got to bound!

Well hello, friend! I love when we get to spend time together, away from all my litter mates. I'm a little quiet and shy, and with so many siblings it gets loud and busy! We can spend the day hopping around town, grab some coffee and enjoy a moment watching the butterflies flit on by!

Whenever pets come and gather the fields around my lake I do my best not to let my curiosity draw me to them. Most times I am successful, but sometimes I can't stop myself! I meander over to the hill and lean up to greet them, but they always run away! I can't figure out why...

Compared to most butterflies, I prefer the colder climates of the world. Specifically the frozen variety. I spend most of my nights relaxing on glaciers, enjoying the crisp breeze floating across the frozen sea.

Bzz bzz. Hello! I am busy from the moment the sun peeks its golden head up from its bed to the moment the moon tells the sun it is time to sleep again. Finding flowers is my main job, and I work very hard. I use colour, scent and electrical signals to find that sweet pollen and nectar.

Like you, I have chores inside the hive, it must be kept clean of debris, and I have to make the little pots that hold the honey. Then there is processing the nectar and pollen into honey and keeping the hive warm at night.

Please don’t worry if you see me, I am so busy going about my duties for the day, but if I should come to peek at you, it may be because you are sweating. Sweat is sweet to bees, so don’t swat at me. Go about what you are doing, I may land on you to sip that sweet sweat, but I am not interested in hurting you. Oh! If you could plant some flowers for me, that would be a tremendous help. I must buzz off now and continue my work.

I am best known for my looooooong neck, but did you know I also have a looooooong tongue? It's true, I do!

I am the tallest living terrestrial animal and take advantage of this by eating leaves that most other animals cannot get to. I live in Africa, and love to run on the savanna, but sometimes, I stop to chat with monkeys high up in the trees. I mean, these long legs and neck have to be used for more than just eating, right? A little playfulness never hurt anyone!

Croak! What am I doing? I am doing the happy frog dance. I love to dance around with joyful abandon. Do you know the saying, dance as if no one is watching? Usually, there is no one watching, and there is nothing more fun for me—at least—than finding the tune in nature and dancing on my lily pad.

Hi! This is nice, sitting here with you and having a quiet conversation. I don’t believe I have properly introduced myself to you. I am a Wombat. I live, usually, in Australia. First, I would like to get out of the way, what everyone wants to talk about. My butt. Yes, I have heard all the jokes, and I have to say my butt serves me well. Yes, it is rather round and large with no tail to speak of—the advantage should be obvious—nothing to grab hold of. You could blame it on my bones—yes, everyone says that I know. But I do have very heavy bones, though my butt is mostly cartilage and not bones.
You see, if someone is chasing me, all I have to do, is run for my burrow and stick my head inside, but I leave my butt outside. No one can get in, and since my butt can't be hurt by bites or scratches, I am pretty safe. My butt can crush an enemy, so a word of caution for you, don’t invite me to sit on your most delicate chairs. I would hate to crush anything you value.

I often spend my days basking in the sun, watching the clouds roll by. Other pets sometimes throw food at me, though I don't know why. I'm capable of getting my own food. Maybe it's a local custom with which I am unfamiliar. I don't complain, however. I often turn to thank them, but the pets run off soon as I open my mouth! Maybe they don't want my gratitude?

The Whiskered Walrus of PnF is a hearty soul who enjoys basking in the sunshine or snuffling along the ocean floor in search of tasty tidbits with highly sensitive vibrissae (aka whiskers). These proud pinnipeds are only exceeded in size by their cousins the elephant seals (who always manage to block the buffet table at family reunions!) In spite of the massive tusks, the Whiskered Walrus is a gentle soul, always ready to lend a flipper to pets in need, share a snack of mollusks and seaweed or blow a whiskery, fishy scented kiss!

I am the precious leopard complex mutation of the appaloosa horse breed. You are very lucky to find me in PnF land, because I almost disappeared entirely at the end of the Bronze Age! Historians think this might have been due to my night blindness, which made it more difficult for me to communicate, find food at night, and find a safe place to avoid predators that could easily spot my beautiful white markings.

Ancient cave paintings depict me pulling bronze chariots, but more often I pulled the logs and stones my people used to make roundhouses in stone hut circles.

Unlike most toys, which are crafted in Santa’s workshop, Lavender Ragdoll was a handmade gift to a little orphan girl named Violet. The only family Violet had in all the whole wide world was an elderly great aunt, who worked on creating Lavender Ragdoll. With fabric scraps and strands of yarn, she lovingly crafted Lavender Ragdoll’s head and body. She used brown yarn to give Lavender brown hair, just like Violets’s. She embroidered Lavenders’s nose, mouth, and eyebrows. Lavenders’s eyes were black glass beads. Violet’s great aunt dressed Lavender Ragdoll in her purple Christmas outfit, wrapped her in a gift box, and put her under the tree...

Is your tank large enough for me? I hope so, I don't do fish bowls. Too tiny for my frame, my kind averages 15 centimeters in length, sometimes up to 25.5 centimeters. Not to brag, of course. I love warm water, but prefer dark places, so none of those ridiculously bright plastic foliage, please. And don't worry about those other fish swimming about, I'll keep them in line. As a natural leader I tend to hang around a long time, maybe up to 12 years, and I plan to keep it that way. So keep that cat away from MY tank or there'll be lots of little fish bites to nurse.

Meow. I mean, ROAR! I mean - oh I don't know what I mean! I'm the largest of cat species and recognized everywhere by black stripes on my reddish-brown fur. I'm quite talented and have learned all sorts of tricks that humans have made me perform in circuses...but I really don't like performing. I much prefer to spend my time bathing in a river, or stalking my dinner.

They arrived on a spaceship—they are quite adept at flying a craft even though they prefer to sit in a nice bit of water if they can find some. They told me there is a special bath on each ship so they can relax and moisturize their skin—the air on the spaceship is quite drying.

Silent as the stars that shine—I glide amongst the forest trees—the dark of night cloaks my search. I can see you as you try to hide; I can hear you, even though you think you do not make a sound. I survey my territory, hooting out my claim, do not nest in the trees, do not hunt in the forest—this is my home.

When the danger has passed, I begin the final portion of my responsibility - checking on the damage which may have occurred. I am proud to be able to claim I have never had a pet harmed during my watch. Majority of any damage is restricted to the terrain alone. Once I have confirmed the results of the passed storm I am able to relax and unwind until the next shift begins.

My favourite day is any day where the sky is clear and the sun is shining bright in the sky. I love to flitter among the blossoming flowers and rippling tall grass, the light breeze warming my wings. Basking in the sun is the most relaxing part of my day - and it lasts all day!

If you're looking for the perfect vacation, there's no better getaway than my overcast jungle cove. Allow your worries to drift away on the tropical breeze as you relax on the amber sands of the crescent beach.

I love blue, don’t you? I even wear a crown of blue upon my head to match my blue wings. If you are walking through the woodland and come upon me hanging upside down, do...not...panic. I am in my favourite position to look for food. They say birds can’t learn new tricks. Oh! Sorry, that is old dogs. I am very clever and can always find new ways to find food.
