National Day

Scaredy Cat
"Did you know that Canada just celebrated Canada Day a few days ago? And for us, tomorrow is our Independence Day" Bob said while they're relaxing at the community centre lounge.
"Yes, I know. And I can't wait to celebrate our 4th of July with my hooman. I just hope they will just stop with the fireworks already. It scares me so much" replied Scaredy Cat. JJ comes and sits next to Scaredy Cat, letting her friend knows that she is there to protect her.
"What do you have planned for July 4th?" Bob asked again.
"Barbecue and gathering with friends and family. And you're invited of course" Scaredy Cat replied with a smile.
"Woohoo!! I'm glad. The thought of that barbecue has me salivating already" Bob said.

"I've just read in Wikipedia, not all nations celebrate Independence Day like we do and not all national days are called Independence Day either, case-in-point - Canada. An independence day is an annual event commemorating the anniversary of a nation's independence or statehood, usually after ceasing to be a group or part of another nation or state, or after the end of a military occupation, or after a major change in government. Many countries commemorate their independence from a colonial empire.
Not all countries mark independence as a national holiday. Many, such as Australia, Canada, Denmark, New Zealand, Ireland, Luxembourg, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Taiwan, and Turkey mark other dates of significance. And the names vary too. Some call it Liberty Day, National Day, Republic Day and much more depending on the significance of the day" Scaredy Cat explained.
"Wow, that's a lengthy explanation. I wonder how those countries celebrate their special national day" Bob said.
"We have quite a mixed group of people from other parts of the world here at the Community Centre. Why don't we have all of them describe the celebration of their country day via artwork? That will be awesome, and we can learn from it too" Scaredy Cat said excitedly.
"I love it. Let's do that" Bob agrees.
