November 13th is World Kindness Day. Bob asked Scaredy Cat and JJ to help in celebrating by visiting their newest neighbor Mr. Pierogi. The three friends decided to welcome him with the bountiful box of pumpkins for the upcoming Thanksgiving holiday. Bob is hoping Mr. Pierogi can bake a good pumpkin pie! "Welcome to PnF" exclaimed Scaredy Cat! "We are excited to meet you and your family and look forward to seeing you around". Bob added that there are a lot of fun activities to participate in with the other pets and hoomans from quests and hunts to the community center and everyone is welcome to join in". "It was so nice of you to come by and introduce yourselves," says Mr. Pierogi. "This is my friend Clever Crow in the tree and Ginger Cat, who is bit bashful below. It is such a kind gesture of you to come by and I can't wait to meet everyone else". Scaredy Cat responded, "you are going to really love it here".

Kindness asks us to extend our approach beyond niceties and good manners and into transformative action, compassionate and intentional inclusion and empower solutions. Kindness goes beyond a fleeting trend or singular act. It's a lifestyle and mindset shift to meet each other with greater empathy. World Kindness Day is about positive potential of large and small acts of kindness. This week, we would like to see how your pets and hoomans will be celebrating. Some suggestions might be quotes about kindness, things that inspire you or around positivity. There are random acts of kindness such as volunteering in your community. You might consider helping one person. And finally, be a little kinder to yourself, too. We cannot fundamentally pour from an empty cup. Take time to rest and invest in yourself for you and the people around you. We look forward to seeing your creative scenes this week for World Kindness Day!
