Today in school, Scaredy Cat's class were celebrating Arbor Day. Ms. Owl explained that Arbor Day is a day to bring awareness about the importance of trees and the destruction of forests. She went on to explain that this is a holiday that is celebrated worldwide on different days of the year, depending on where you lived. Here it is being celebrated on April 28th this year. Ms. Owl also told the class that there are many ways to celebrate Arbor Day. One way was to plant a tree. She then took Scaredy Cat and his classmates out to a field next to the school and together they planted some young trees. Scaredy Cat's service dog took a nap near Ms. Owl while the students worked hard to plant their trees....well....some of them were just so happy to be out of the classroom that they were more interested in playing and running around and less interested in the trees.

This week we're celebrating Arbor Day and trees! There's lots of ways for your pet to get involved in Arbor Day activities! They could organize a Big Tree or Oldest Tree search within their community. They could choose a public park or downtown area to clean up. If your pet loves books, they could read a book about trees! And of course - your pet could plant a tree!! What will your pet do this week to celebrate this important holiday?
