Scaredy Cat
Bob invited Scaredy Cat and his emotional support buddy JJ to the attic at his house for a surprise. Scaredy Cat is very fond of the attic because it's a safe place for him to hide when he's feeling overwhelmed. But when they reach the attic, Scaredy Cat immediately notices a fairly large spider near the corner and that IS a problem. He is not exactly a fan of those eight-legged critters. Too many legs and if you get caught in their web, they'll spin their silk around you til your entire body is covered. Then, according to what he's been told, they will eat you! He's not very happy about the spider being there but he is with his friend and he has JJ with him. Bob had them sit in a circle and they each opened a box with a big letter A. Of course, curiosity gets the cat, so he had to ask Bob what they are for. "Well", says Bob, "I was thinking about all the words that start with the letter A." JJ, always a happy dog, wags her tail and spots several things that start with letter A in this room: there's an apple, an airplane, an aardvark and even a Raggedy Ann! Bob says there are a couple other items in the room and asks Scaredy Cat if he had any guesses. Nervously he says, "the attic"? JJ barks at Scaredy Cat, who understands what she trying to say and tells Bob that JJ is letting us know that "air" also begins with A. Scaredy Cat was a bit nervous when he saw that spider, but now he is thinking about all the things A stands for. Bob was happy his friends caught on and started dreaming of all the tasty treats he could think of that start with A.

Your mission this week is to create art that starts with the letter. Art starts with the letter A too! So does August, Autumn and so many other words. What things do you know that begins with the letter A? Maybe you have a friend or family member whose name begins with the first letter of the alphabet. Think of all the foods and animals that start with A. Let your imagination roll, get out the dictionary, look on the internet and share what A stands for.
