Today at Summer School, Mr. Owl is teaching the students about the letter "G". He explains that there are many, many words that begin with this letter. He has a few items on the display table that all begin with the letter "G". He also teaches them that the letter "G" can be the beginning of the name of a country, such as "Germany" or "Greece" and the name of a city, such as "Guadalajara" and "Glasgow". There are names of people and pets such as "Ginny", "Gabriel" and "Gerald". He then tells the students he would like them to create a display board of things beginning with "G".
As Mr. Owl is explaining the assignment, Bob happens to glance at himself in the mirror as he thinks to himself, "Gorgeous! Gorgeous starts with a letter 'G'!" Scaredy Cat stares at Mr. Owl as he thinks about things he knows that begin with the letter "G". He's hoping that his assignment won't be too difficult - how many things CAN there be with the letter "G"??

This week the letter "G" is the focus! What activities can you do that begin with "G"? Do you have a favorite food that begins with "G"? Is there someone in your family who has a name such as "Glenn", "Gina" or "George"? Do you have a favorite pastime that starts with this letter? There are so many things that start with "G" and we're trusting that you'll share them with us this week!!
