Scaredy Cat
It's a bit chilly today so Scaredy Cat, Bob and JJ spend their time indoors at the Community Centre. While relaxing in the lounge, sipping on some hot beverages, their eyes were glued to some of the past artwork done by the Community members hanging on the wall.
"I can’t believe it’s already December! What do you like most about this month Bob? Aside from the upcoming Christmas day" Scaredy Cat asked.
"Well, since it has already started to snow, I love to play in the snow and then eat fresh-from-the-oven cookies with a nice big mug of hot chocolate. What about you Scaredy Cat? What do you like about December?" Bob replied with another question.
"I like the festive atmosphere. The month is often characterized by decorations, lights, and festive music, which can create a cheerful and uplifting environment,” said Scaredy Cat
"So true" Bob agreed wholeheartedly.
"Looking at all the artwork on the wall, I remember some facts about the month of December which I really want to use for this week’s art challenge" Scaredy Cat said.
"What are they?" Bob asked.
"Well, those born in December claim three icy cool birthstones. Tanzanite, found only in Tanzania, is a deep glacial purple. Blue Zircon (not to be confused with cubic zirconia) is the oldest mineral on Earth and comes in a variety of colors. Finally, turquoise, with its distinct color and veins, comes in a variety of shades. Since we haven't done any of gems related artwork in a while, I think it's high time to use this month’s birthstone as the theme". Scaredy Cat said excitedly.
"They're sparkly, colorful and beautiful. What a great idea for artwork! I like it. Let's do that" Bob replied.

We're celebrating gemstones for this week’s art challenge. It doesn't have to be just the three December birthstones. You can use all types of gems that you have to create a work of art. It can be color-based art, an abstract design of gems, an art that shows the usage of gems and so much more. Let's go wild with gems!!
