When the lights went out ...
Ailsa McKillop If Edgar had learnt one thing in the Scouts, it was BE PREPARED! So when the lights went out due to a power cut, he produced candles without any delay, and announced that it would be an excellent opportunity to embark on a reading of Volume I of "War and Peace" without any distractions of an electronic nature. Engrossed in Tolstoy's epic tale, he failed to notice the pets sidling out of the room one by one, the Ocelot Kitten slumbering peacefully in front of the fire and the Magpie roosting atop the long case clock.
