Scaredy Cat had planned to go to the library today but it has been raining all day and since he didn't want to get wet, he decided he'd stay home. But what's a kitty to do on a rainy day like this? For him, it's heading to the attic. In the attic, there are all sorts of things to discover - especially since there are a lot of boxes to look through! When he is in the attic, it's almost like going to a different place. Here, he can look into a box and find things from a different era and he can pretend that he has traveled back in time to when these things are new. He also feels safe there - having some sensory issues and difficulties at times being around others, this is place that makes him feel secure. He thinks that the attic is a very special place and is thankful to have it to go to when he needs that place to go to.
This week your challenge is share that special place is for your and/or your pet. Is it a special room in your home (like the attic is for Scaredy Cat)? Maybe your special place is the little cafe down the street, where they make the tastiest beverages and play some easy listening music to put you into a calm state of mind. Could your special place be in a far-away location? Many think of the beach as a special place. Share that special place with all of us!
