Sir Waddlesworth has invited his new friend Scaredy Cat over to his grandma's house to play. They're exploring in Grandma's attic and it's making Scaredy Cat a little nervous as he spots cobwebs all over the walls and rafters. Sir W (as he likes to be called) finds an old umbrella that looks to be in decent shape and opens it up. Scaredy Cat starts to shake because everyone knows that it's bad luck to open an umbrella indoors!! Sir W tells him not to worry - it's Open An Umbrella Indoors Day (on March 13th) and it's going to be ok! Apparently, Open An Umbrella Indoors Day was invented in 2003 by some guy who allegedly hoped to defy silly superstitions by encouraging people to open their umbrellas indoors and observe the (non-existent) consequences. Scaredy Cat isn't quite convinced, but he's determined to brave this one out.

This week, we're celebrating Open An Umbrella Indoors Day (March 13th)!! How does a pet take part in such a silly holiday? Easy!! The best thing about this bizarre holiday is that anybody can take part. Just follow these four simple steps:
Step 1: Find an umbrella and check that you are, indeed, indoors.
Step 2: Position yourself clear of breakable objects and/or people who value their eyesight.
Step 3: Take a deep breath, grasp the umbrella handle firmly with one paw and open the umbrella with your other paw.
Step 4: Note any bad luck that occurs in the following days or weeks.
Now.....is your pet superstitious but willing to push their luck and participate? Or are they shaking their head and saying "No way Jose"!! Let's put all those weather game umbrellas to use and open them up indoors!!
