I live in one of the most amazing places, Alaska. There are plenty of fish, which I love, especially salmon, and there is no shortage of places to make my den for the winter. I am not quite like you, I make a new den each winter and enjoy the most marvellous sleep. Would you like a tour of my favourite fishing place?

Yip, yip! Heya! Nice to see you out enjoying the sunny day. I am white during the winter, great camouflage you know, and when the summer comes I turn brown or grey. I love to scamper about and play in the snow and you may often see me with my mates running around.

When I am shedding, as I walk through the woods bits of my under fur get caught on branches and that is the softest, warmest hair imaginable. The hair left behind on twigs and branches is called Qiviut and is much sought after for knitting warm sweaters. Help yourself to any you find.

What fun! Diving under the sea, chasing fish, finding a nice ice floe to rest on—which I spend a lot of time doing. Would you like to join me? We can tell each other stories of the biggest fish we ever caught. I even have some fish left over from this morning's catch, which we can snack on.
