All the pets are busy in the kitchens of PnF land. Trays of cookies and gingerbread house pieces are all ready to decorate. One thing still needs to be made, the royal icing. If there is no icing, the candies will slide off the cookies, and we will never get our gingerbread house to stand up.
All we need is icing sugar and egg whites. If you would like to add a drop of flavouring, peppermint is nice and refreshing.

Deedee the Happy Chick loves to sing. She gets up at dawn, goes out onto the balcony and chirps her little heart out. It is said her neighbors got a bit tired of this, but then someone bought a cockerel and they all begged Deedee to sing loudly over his crowing, because she was so much more musical. Deedee has been glad to oblige!
