The Nile Crocodile symbolized royal power, fertility, fear and protection to the Egyptians. Considered the fastest crocodile in the world at speeds of 35 kilometres per hour, 19 to 22 mph. Quick, make friends with this interesting creature. Oh look, the crocodile is smiling.

Oh yes, I was important to the royalty of Egypt, but I am a bit busy today and can’t stop to talk unless you want to join me in my rounds. Do you? I usually set out quite early in the morning, to survey my land and see that all is well. I don’t like garbage strewn about and things left to form a noxious haze. So, I clean up every day. It seems to me that cities could use a few of my brothers and sisters. I should talk to them about forming a contract with you.

There is an old yellow bear, you may have seen him walking around town, but you have surely seen him when you attend the PnF sporting events. This old bear loves sports, and even though he cannot participate as he did in his younger years, he loves to raise a paw and cheer on the participants while yelling out, “Reach for the stars.”

Some pets cannot see a map without guessing what lies beyond the edges. Where does that river go? What is on the other side of that mountain? What hides within that forest? If the thought of unknown lands makes your pet long to know them before others do, take to the road, or the skies, with this dragon!

The sun is down and it's time to play! I'm ready to race through some rock tunnels and pester my siblings and neighbors. (They love it! Really!) Think you can keep up with me?

Cybil is a bold and adventurous Siberian Tiger. Warmly dressed in her polar bear hat and mittens, Cybil is just itching to go out and explore the Arctic Tundra! “Catch me if you can” she boasts, as she launches herself onto the ice and begins skating like a pro! Her skating prowess was never really in doubt though, with such big strong feet!

As a long-eared owl, I have the privilege of being part of the majestic owl family. My distinctive long ear tufts give me a unique and charming look that can sometimes make me resemble a wise old owl! I love spending my nights hunting for prey with my exceptional hearing and eyesight. Flying on silent wings through the dark forest brings me a sense of freedom and connection to nature that I cherish. Whether I'm hooting softly in the moonlit night or perched peacefully on a branch, I take pride in being a long-eared owl, embracing my role in the circle of life.

You will never meet a more caffeinated and wild penguin than Half Caf. They do not go anywhere without their trusty coffee mug and are always seeking out more and better brews of coffee. Whatever you do, do NOT serve decaf!

They call me mellow yellow, I’m a likable fellow, meandering through the day. I’m not much trouble, and I don’t run fast, when all the pets in PnF race, I’m always sadly last. (Seriously, even the snails beat me.) I don’t make a sound, but I make the ladies shriek, is it good or bad when I hear them, “Eek!”?

The poison comes from the insects I eat out in the wild and those insects have been nibbling on poisonous plants, so if you don’t feed me those types of insects I will be safe to have as a friend. This might be the start of a never-blue friendship.

Borrowing a balloon from friends, this old bear can be seen sailing over the sporting event, looking down at whatever sport is ongoing and cheering loudly. One of the reasons this bear loves honey is it can soothe a sore throat from all that cheering.

Happy Holidays! Aren’t my lights just pretty? I love the cold and the holiday season. I enjoy helping people decorate for whatever holiday that they choose to celebrate. I love snow! And ice! And cold! Did I mention I like cold? I am a harp seal, and my scientific name actually means, “ice-lover from Greenland.” My coat is white, as I am still a baby. But I like color. Do you like color? I love to play too! Will you play with me? As you can probably tell, I’m an excited little seal. Mama says I am full of energy, and I spend much of my time burning off my energy by sunbathing and sliding on the ice. Sometimes all my energy annoys Mama, and she’s constantly telling me that “I am lucky I am cute!” whatever that means. But today I am excited because it’s almost CHRISTMAS! Mama says I can pick my very own block of ice to decorate! I’ve been carefully inspecting them all, looking for the perfect one to hang these colorful lights! They are just so pretty and I can’t help but play around in them, even if I do end up a tiny bit tangled. It’s okay, I’m a master at untangling myself! Ooh! Look at that one over there! If we hurry, we can slide along the ice and beat any other seals that might want to claim that block of ice for themselves! I’ll race you, are you ready? Ready, set, GO! Merry Christmas!

Hello! I am tingling with excitement at meeting you. Do you like my laugh? It sounds like tinkling bells; I laugh a lot. When I am with other snowflakes we can produce quite the choir. We are going to have so much fun. I would love to help you build snowmen or join a snowball fight.

If you travel past the mountain tops and clouds, far into the coldest regions of the sky, you will have found the birthplace of all the snowflakes.

Snowflakes made with the purest water combined with the coldest air you could ever find. Add a touch of winter magic, and tada, a perfect snowflake is born.

This little snowflake is newly arrived in PnF land and is so proud to have drifted down to such a wonderful place. The little snowflake is eager to introduce itself to all the other pets in the land and become part of the winter fun.

The weather was partly cloudy today. So I want into the garden but that pesky farmer has it fenced off. How could they? Don’t they know bunnies need lettuce and parsley? As calm as the trickle of a gentle stream or as mighty as an ocean wave, only those experienced with wisp behavior dare to interact with water wisps as their temperament is so unpredictable.

Glowing eyes peer out of the mist in the middle of the dark forest. The dark shape bursts out from the trees, with head to the ground, following a scent. Powerful legs push the body to speed up until dinner is caught. With head thrown back, a mournful howl is cast at the sky, and voices echo back.

This Halloween, as you enjoy trick or treating, you may catch sight of this elusive creature. The black wolf is said to live in the forest beyond the town, but the forest is deep and dark; very few pets are brave enough to wander far off the paths in this forest. The wolves are shy of humans and towns, so it is rare to catch a glimpse, except on Halloween night, when rumour has it that the black wolves come close to town to watch the festivities. Maybe they are curious about the costumes that look nothing like the pets that live in the town. Maybe the wolves just like Halloween.

When I was a young bundle of tawny feathers, I danced for the sheer joy of playing. Now that I am all grown up, I will still dance. I will dance to form a bond. I will dance to strengthen that bond through the years. I will dance and call to communicate if I want to be left alone or if I want to play.

The Red-crowned crane, with the scientific name of Grus japonensis, is one of the largest birds in the world, standing at 158 centimeters (5 feet), with a wing span of 2.5 meters (8 feet). With black-tipped wings and a patch of red on its head, which is actually exposed skin, the Red-crowned crane is a symbol of long life, good luck, and fidelity.

Whew! You can see it, right? The little pink flower on top of my head. I have been growing in this pot for a long time. It is the perfect size for me. Set on a window ledge, soaking up the sun's warmth is pure bliss, and every now and then, a sprinkle of water keeps me hydrated.

Sometimes, I am placed outside where I can feel the breezes and enjoy the sounds of birds. I am happy, as happy as any little cactus could be. It is rare for a cactus to bloom, it can take a very long time, sometimes as much as 50 years, or it may never bloom.

I have put a lot of energy into that pink bloom. I would accept a hug, but my little prickles may tickle you; they keep me safe from bugs that may see me as a tasty snack. I hope to be able to bloom again for you one day.

You have found a most unusual plant in the plant shop in PnF land. It appears exciting and has a face that looks as if it could almost speak to you. You turn away, unsure if this is the plant you want today. You hear a rustling, and then you hear a voice.

“Take me home, oh please take me home and give me tender care. I like a semi-sunny window, and you only have to feed me once a week. I won’t be any bother, and in return, I can give you hours of stimulating conversation and play board games with you.”

The plant did speak, of course, it did. This is PnF land, and anything is possible. You ask the plant some questions.

The plant produces a wide grin, waving leafy arms around, and says, “I eat whatever you are eating, bits of cheese, perhaps some leftover lasagna, or a nice bit of roast, and I get along well with others. Oh, please, won’t you take me home? This shop is boring, and I long to belong to a family.”

You think about the offer. It is a most unusual plant and would be a great friend—you hope, on days when you want to stay inside and read or play games.
