| | You may think those warning sirens for storms and tornados are signaled by fancy technologic systems which read the weather. In truth, I'm the one pets look to to know when the storms will come. My delicate wings give me the ability to detect the air flow and pressure changes which can create dangerous conditions.
Once I sense the air change, I travel to nearby homes to warn pets to take cover and help the elderly pets reach safety. As I finish my rounds I begin the dangerous portion of my job, tracking the storm as it travels across the terrain.
When the danger has passed, I begin the final portion of my responsibility - checking on the damage which may have occurred. I am proud to be able to claim I have never had a pet harmed during my watch. Majority of any damage is restricted to the terrain alone. Once I have confirmed the results of the passed storm I am able to relax and unwind until the next shift begins. |
