| | The day has been warm and this branch— I am told— leads to a delicious leaf. I hope the leaf is still there when I arrive. I know I am slow, but sometimes slow and steady is the best way to be. I don’t really have stress unless there is a bird nearby. I just turned around, and wow, I have come quite a distance already. What is that, 3 inches? Is that a record? I know I will reach that leaf very soon, and if I don’t, well, I carry my house with me, so I can try again in the morning.
Hey! What have we here? Could you move that snack a bit closer, please? It takes me ages to glide anywhere—not that I am complaining, but that snack sure looks tasty, and my snail tummy is growling a bit.
Have you ever slowed down when you are walking? It is astounding what you can see if you take the time. When I am out for a meander along the branches, I am pretty sure I can see the leaves growing. I know, right! Pretty amazing.
Oh no! Did you see that? I was zipping along with my eye on the prize—a tasty piece of fruit that had fallen onto the branch—and out of nowhere came this cheeky bird and scooped up the fruit. If I could growl, I am sure I would. Such audacity.
Now, where am I meant to go? Do you see any more fruit? You do! And it is on the same branch I am on, oh such happiness. I will make my way over there. I hope no more pesky birds come swooping down. |
